When faith is tested, use the Shield of faith
Eph 6:16 - In addition to
all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the
flaming arrows of the evil one.
As I take stock of the recent change of events, I notice a trend:
- In Aug, dangerous mishaps in the mission trip to Myanmar.
- In Sep, dangerous situations in Sikkim and threatened by religious fanatics in Charttisgarh.
- Last week in Myanmar, encountered demonic activities in the villages; one of our team members, escaped bomb blast in a supermarket and we were out of Shan state before the violent clashes that killed many took place.
- This week, Reena's near death incident.
Eph 6:2 - For
our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
These are the fiery darts of the enemy trying to dissuade, distract and
disturb God's plan. When we are engaged in evangelism and missions,we are
marching into the enemy's territory and the devil will not keep silent.
That's why he launches all these fiery darts.
I realised through all these attacks, the shield of faith is the
way to extinguish all these flaming darts. Against discouragement, against
fear, against doubt, against worry, against pain and against the enemy himself,
the shield of faith is the key. Faith that comes from the Word, edified from
the encouragement of believers and through prophecy of godly people and
in many other small ways.
A few months ago I met Sis Rani Roberts in Singapore. When she prayed
for me, she released a prophetic word and warned about something that will
happen to me in Nov but God will be gloried through it that and I will be
amazed.
She also said that she saw many arrows have been pointed against
me before and even now. "But I see them becoming bent and dropping as they
come near you. This is because there is a transparent glass wall around you and
the Lord is holding you in His arms. Indeed nothing will harm you. So don't be
afraid."
But
the word of God encourages us in Isaiah 54:7 - No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every
tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and
this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.
Therefore no matter what the devil may attempt to do to us, nothing
happens without God's notice and God is in control.
And remember, "No, in all these things we are more
than conquerors through him who loved us." - Rom
8:37
Psalms 112:7 - They
will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting
in the Lord.
