Sunday morning 25 Jan 14

Image
Jeya and I returned from Virginia Beach this morning. Our connection was delayed and we arrived home at 3:30AM. Jet-lagged but still had business to finish. In the afternoon, we were invited to speak at Bible Mission Church, which used the Salvation Army premises at Bukit Timah. About 50 people attended the service. Rev Dawson Ng is the Senior Pastor of this church.  This brother, an ex convict, gave a special number in the service. He was very talented and was able to play three instruments at a time.  The church's theme for the year is "Scaling greater heights for end-time servant hood. I spoke on "Planted for a purpose". Many responded to the message and came forward for prayer. God's powerful presence was felt in the service. I was awed at how God moved. I was really tired but He moved in Hs own way. Praise God. Thanks to those who prayed for us. God bless. The church has asked me to be their retreat speaker in June.

PEC Church Planters combined graduation.

Image
The combined graduation took place on Sunday 18 Jan at PEC Rasoolpura Church. Forty church planters from our four training centres in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana graduated on that day. This is the first graduation I am absent, as I am still in the US. I am sure the Lord has a great reason for all this. So happy to see this and rejoicing in the spirit. The next level of leadership is arising.  Another church was dedicated on 19 Jan. This is the 82nd church we have deduced in India for the Glory of God. We thank God for Bro Albert and Sis Josephine for sponsoring this building. Praise God. Bishop Nehemiah and Bro Rubern Bala conducted 13 baptisms in AP.

Smita goes to Glory

Image
Smita Kumar It was with sadness, we heard the news that Smita passed away and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, 14 Jan 15 at 10:15 AM. She had been battling with stage 4 cancer. We did not expect it to be so soon. But we know God is in control and all things work for good. We were scheduled for a mission trip to India from 15-25 Sep. We had to get Bro Ruben to take over our place and we departed fro Virginia Beach on Friday morning. We arrived Virginia Beach on Friday night (US time) after27 hrs of flight time and transit.  John C, a close family friend, was at the airport to pick us up. John C and his wife Ruth have always been there for Kumar, Smita and Manisha. The first person to greet us when we arrived at Smita's home was Manisha. That girl was calm and brave and ushered us with the loving hospitality, as though nothing has happened. Wow.... She has accepted the situation much better than many adults.  We thank God for all who have prayed fro us a

Another milestone - 29th Wedding Anniversary.

Image
Yesterday Jeya and I celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary. As we look back at our marriage life, we can only say that its because of God's faithfulness we have come thus far. Last year at this time we were in the mission field and we had very challenging moments. But as we look back, we can truly say with gospel song writer Andrea Crouch, " Through it all, through it all, I've learned to trust in Jesus, I've learned to trust in God". (Andrea Crouch passed away this week leaving behind a legacy of some of the finest Christian songs ever written). It has not been easy with  so many  responsibilities and  tasks. We have our share of joy and frustrations. By my wife has been patient and kind, extremely understanding, even when I chose to make the "wrong" decisions. Because we know God is in control of our lives and our children. We look forward to the next many years the Lord will lead us together. We are thankful for the many d

It was by divine appointment that the right people were brought to gather though s
