Where is really my passion?

Image
Yesterday I received the following WhatsApp message from Bishop Anjan, PEC Coordinator for Odisha.. "Sir, today we had a good time with some of our church planters at Joba, Rayagada. Many of us have decided to move to different places to start new work. I myself have decided to move to Ambadala 40 km from here. And other pastors also have decided to move to different places. Few church planters needs house rent to stay in the new field. To start gospel work we need leaflets, new testaments etc. I have finished writing a leaflet in Oriya language title, " Life is the gift of God".  I need to print it at least 2000 copies.  Kindly pray for all these things sir so that we can work effectively &  much better than  before. Thank you very much sir." I was almost moved to tears after reading this message. The passion for the lost, the passion for the Lord is simply overwhelming in these men. Bishop Anjan and his  team of pastors have already achieved much in the miss

Another new work in Darjeeling

Image
To the glory of God, today we started another new work today in Siliguri, Darjeeling. Pst Abishek, his wife and the church planter conducted the inaugural service. Previously they gathered in homes but the space was insufficient. They are using a rundown room to conudct the service.  Many people attended and there ae many children in this village. A great potential for growth.  We thank God for the work done by our church planters, reaching the far corners of the earth. To God be the glory. ....Your labour in the Lord is not in vain. - 1 Cor 15:58

The road to restoration - 2 chronicles 29

2 Chronicles 29: 24  - he priests then slaughtered the goats and presented their blood on the altar for a sin offering to atone for all Israel, because the king had ordered the burnt offering and the sin offering for all Israel. 2 Chronicles 29-31  - Then Hezekiah said, “You have now dedicated yourselves to the  Lord . Come and bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the temple of the  Lord .” So the assembly brought sacrifices and thank offerings, and all whose hearts were willing brought burnt offerings. King Ahaz had desecrated the temple, brought in unholy things and shut the doors. His son King Hezekiah on the other hand realised that all the atrocities the nation of Judah was facing was the consequences of the sinful acts of the fathers.  In his efforts to clean up the temple and bring the nation on its road to restoration, he ordered the sacrifices to be reinstated and in particular three offerings;  Sin offerings  (29:21),  burnt offerings  (29:21),  and the thank offering  (29

Sunday morning service at His Arrow Church

This morning I had the opportunity to speak at His Arrow Church via zoom. I was invited by Pst Aow, who is also a Haggai International Faculty. The theme for the church is Restore us in such a time like this!! I spoke on the topic - Will God find you faithful & trustworthy? The text was taken from  : 2 Chronicles 29    God used King Hezekiah to bring about a restoration of the nation of Judah.   What did Hezekiah do to realign himself and the kingdom towards God’s purposes and plans?   Realisation of a Catastrophe (failure) - verses 4-11 Restitution  of the Community (people) verses 4-5 Restoration of the church (temple) - verse 16 Resumption of Commitment (service) - verse 25 God brought about the restoration when the people set their own houses, temple and nation in order. Verse 36 - Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced at what  God had brought about for his people,  because it was done so quickly.

2nd tuition centre in Rayagada mountains, Odisha

Image
We started the 2nd tuition centre in the mountainous region of Rayagada, Odisha.  We thank God for Pst Ananta and his wife for the sacrificial service in this region. May a church be raise be raised in this village as a result of this work.                                                              Matthew 5:16 - let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Appreciate your prayers.

Ask and you will receive...

Matthew 7:7-8 -  “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.   For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." These are familiar words of the Lord and we often use this in our prayers and sermons to "remind the Lord" and others of this wonderful promise. Certainly this verses give us the assurance of answered prayer. In fact Hebrews 4:16 encourages us to " Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." And as we pray we  persevere in our prayer by "keep on asking, keep on seeking and keep on knocking." We pray according to His will and in faith believing that God answers  the cries of His people.  God will certainly answer our prayers. This is our part. But this does not mean that we can twist God's hand and demand for everything under the

My mother in law promoted to glory

Image
My mother-in-law, Madam Manonmany, slipped into eternity peacefully yesterday evening. She was 94 years old. She loved the Lord and always looked forward to going to chuch on Sunday, even during her sunset years. We know this parting is temporary. We will meet her soon at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Psalms 116:15 - Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. The funeral service went well. The following is Jeya's eulogy on her mother which she read before the cremation. "Good evening.   I would like to thank you all for being here today the celebrate my mother’s life. The number of you who took the time to be here to pay your respects is a testament of how much she meant to many of you.    There is an old saying, “Well done is better than well said”.  That is very true of my mother. She was a quiet person, spoke less but did much.   A woman of few words but her actions spoke volumes. A woman of virtue but most importantly she loved the Lord and was fa

Promise verse for the month of Oct

Image
Pst Alvin shared on this verse this morning as the promise for this uncertain month. All of a sudden we see a spike in the number of Covid19 cases and even in the number of deaths in Singapore.  Fear seems to have gripped so many people because of the uncertainties and troubling times. We never thought it will come so close, even to our own people.  But this morning  God's word encourages us, or rather it commands us to wait on the Lord. It's an imperative and not a suggestion. And just to reinforce the gravity of this order, the word wait is repeated twice. Wait. One of the most difficult things for all us of is to wait. All of us want things to happen instantaneously. We want our prayers to be answered immediately. We want our food to be cooked instantly. In fact our world has been an "instant automated world". Waiting is a difficult virtue. But God's ways are different. There is always a time for everything. God wants us to wait so that we will trust Him and
