Historic trip to Medan

Image
Really excited to go on this trip. I am already checked in and am at the waiting area for departure. We will be inaugurating out first Church Planters' Training Program in Medan. This program is sponsored by Calvary Church, Colombo, Sri Lanka. God has opened another new door for us to reach the unreached. These church planters will undergo six months of training and will be deployed to many unreached areas in Indonesia. We need sponsors to support these church planters at least for a period of three years. I know the Lord will provide. I will also be conducting Equip Training Program for pastors and leaders. Looking forward to meeting friends in Medan again.

Just hurt

"
It is doubtful that God can use any man greatly until he has hurt him deeply" - AW Tozer Thought provoking statement but quite difficult to accept. Why would God do that? Does He enjoy people getting hurt by these hurts. Talk about hurts. Have been through some lately and from the most unexpected people. Not that I am saint but when truth has been compromised and you are not allowed to defend yourself. When you are literally humiliated by the young, the wounds can be deep. But they too must have been hurt deeply, or else the torment would have been subdued.  Pause Look at the saints in the Bible: Joseph was falsely accused yet here maned faithful Moses was unjustly challenged but He remained quiet David had to run into hiding for doing the right things Jesus was mocked, beaten, nailed and killed by Hs own creation. What was the reaction fo the saints?  Jesus -  Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing. Joseph - You meant it for evi

Seek Him

Psalms 34:4-7   - I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant;  their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;  he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Psalmist outlines five blessings that comes when we seek the Lord. God answers - He is a prayer answering God. We serve a living God. He answers His people. When we have a walking relationship with God we can hear Him speak to us through His Holy Spirit.  Jer  33:3 -  Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.' God  delivers  - There were many difficult situation that David got himself into. Yet when he called on God, theLord delivered him. Psalms 107:6 -  Then they cried out  to the  Lord  in their trouble,  and he delivered them from their distress. God removes our shame -  Because  of ou

Sunday service in JAKARTA

Image
This morning I spoke in two services in   Geraja Kristus Yesus, Jamaat Sunter.   on the topic Humility in Worship. This church has a membership of about 1000 people and they run 4 services on Sunday. I believe the Lord spoke to many people today. Although t was a very tradition service, I enjoyed the songs and the order of service.  My interpreter is a young man by the name of Timothy. This man is full of passion and fire for the Lord. Hope to connect with hm in the area of missions. I was blessed to be there and to encourage them in the area of church planting and missions. Just amazed how God is leading us to new territories and places, we never imagined will be. I believe greater things are in store. We are now checked in waiting for our departure back to Singapore. Thank you Jesus.

Trip to Jakarta

Image
Jeya and I are at the waiting area in Terminal 4, waiting for our departure to Jakarta. Through a participant in HI, I have been invited to speak on missions and also two services on Sunday morning. More than a month of preparation has gone for these meetings.  Bro Happy, yes a strange name, a good man with a passionate heart. He wants his church to hear about the great commission and the title of the seminar is "Mission Possible". Great expectations. Only the Holy Spirit can fill. Praying that the participants who will come, will be impacted with the Word of God, their eyes will be opened to see the fields, "ripe for harvest". Thanking God for another opportunity to serve with Jena in the new field. To God be the glory.

Wilderness experiences

Jeya spoke in the morning service today. She spoke on the wilderness experiences that we often go through in life. She spoke on the life of Joseph. Joseph went through four wilderness experiences in his life: The pit experiecne The slave experience The prison experience  The place experience Each time God was moulding his character and sharpening his spiritual gifts and preparing him for greater things. In all these experiences God was with him. One has to submit and realize who we are in Christ Jesus and that all things will work for our good. Wait patiently. Don't retaliate. Let God do His work and the results will be tremendous. I was almost at tears. The message spoke directly to me. I needed it badly. Thank you Jesus.

Is there an urgency for missions and evangelism?

I think there is. Just before Jesus was taken up from this world, he gave this very important commandment to his disciples in  Matthew 28:19-20 - Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. The gospel message or the good news has been with us for more than 2000 years and yet about half of the world is yet to be challenged with the claims of Jesus Christ.  Even in our own surroundings, many of our family, relatives and friends with whom we interact daily do not know about the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. As Christians we know that Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus said in  John 14:6 – I am the way the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but by me. Acts 4:12 –The Apostle Peter tells us “ There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” If we, C

Heading Home

We are finally checked in and waiting for our departure to Singapore.  Once again another fulfilled  trip. Although it was very hectic with so many risks and challenges, the Lord was gracious and merciful. I am blessed indeed to see the growth of the ministry in North East India. But the harvest is indeed great and the laborers are few. We need more people to rise up and catch the vision with a great passion for the lost. Only the Holy Spirit can do it.  Specially blessed to see the next generation on this trio and taking and active role. I pray they will take on the mantle and take the ministry to greater heights.

Today’s journey took us to Assam. We had three children’s program in the three centers which we are supporting. About 50 children and 40 adults gathered under a tent. The children sang songs and performed some dances. Gaddiel told a story to the kids. We distributed small goodie packages for the kids and they had a good sponsored lunch.   Pathar Dubhi After the program we drove for an hour and came to Pst Soban’s church in  Noisapur Village village. There were fewer children this time and Pst Soban told us that many children were having exams in school. Jeya told a story and we departed after distributing the gift packages to the kids. 1st Church Dedication in Nepal

Image
With Pst Dannish and Bishop Samuel Sunday  morning, 30 Sep, Pst Danish , the church planter whose church we are going to dedicate, was waiting for us at Ketuke. We still have about 2 hrs to go before we reach the church. We quickly refreshed ourselves. The small so called motel, reminded me of Singspore in the 70’s. Thank God it was not the “bucket system”. Breakfast was some energy  bars that we brought from Home.  Then we made our way to Newareydara, which was about 15 km up in the mountains. For the first part of the journey we too a vehicle. Pst Danish told us that the mountain tracks are newly paved and are still in a “raw” state. To my shock, these tracks were worst off than what we had been through the night. There were no barricades at the edge, and one slip we would have fallen 4000 feet down the cliff. I was holding on to my seat as the vehicle was maneuvering around the mountains, especially when it came almost centimeters close to the the edge id the tracks. We c
