25th Wedding Annivesary - Silver Jubilee

11-1-11 - 25th Wedding Anniversary.

Today my wife and I celebrate our Silver Jubilee, 25 years of being married together. How time flies. I look out of the window, the weather reminiscent of the day we got married. It was raining the whole day and so is today. How appropriate. Praise God for His faithfulness in our lives and for the blessings He has given us.

Lam 3:22-23 - Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

It has been a wonderful journey. Yes there were disagreements, quarrels, desperation and even "fights" but through it all, our love has grown stronger for the Lord , for the family, for the ministry and for one another.

Jeya has been the magnet that holds our family together. Almost three months in a year I am out of country for ministry and kids busy in school. But she has always been the inventory holder that keeps reminding of the things that needs to be done and addressed in the home and in the family. She is the spiritual barometer of the family. She has been my "goal keeper", showing me my drifts and making me to see my weakness, which others will brush off with a smile. My additional conscience that keeps me from going astray.

What do I like in her? Her smile, her laughter, the calmness in stressful situations, her frankness (which many cannot take) but more importantly her love and the holy fear for God. It surpasses every other relationship. In every one of her dealings and decision making, God takes priority. Many times when I get up before the day breaks, she is already in prayer.

Today she juggles work, with family duties, Sunday School, teaching Taftee class and going on mission trips, in addition to pursuing a degree program. We don't have a maid, yet she manages well and still has time for her routine workouts in the stadium or the gym. Now you know why she is in shape.
We thank God for all our families and all those who have been a blessing to us. We are indeed blessed with three great kids. We thank God for the ministry He has led us into and we look forward to fulfill the purposes and plans of God for our lives.

Jeya you may not be perfect to the rest, neither am I. In fact I weigh much lower in the scale. But your perfect for me. Thank you for being a part of me. Thanks for always being by my side through the many storms I dragged you in. Don't know what I will do without you. Love you.

What a trip to Nepal

I am sitting at the airport restaurant in Kathmandu, checked in and waiting for my departure to New Delhi and from there, onward to Singapore.  Just sipping and enjoying the Americano coffee and a slice of cheese cake as I reminiscent my last nine days in Nepal. It has been a incredibly tough trip but one filled with joy, great satisfaction and challenges. Tough because of the bad roads, tracks and mountain trekking that really tested my endurance and my back was sore.  Couple of knocks on the head as the vehicle danced to the tune of the undulating terrain. Days when I had terrible diarrhoea, running from one mountain toilet to another. Thank God I had Dr Mike Ong on this trip who is a medical doctor from Singapore, who attended to my condition. Times when we had to sleep on the cold floor with thin sheets of cloth, with rodents in the vicinity. Temperatures dropped to a low of 10-12 degrees centigrde in the nights. Devotion - Psalms 44: 6-7 - Its God who gives the victory

Psalms 44:6-7 - I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame. Any soldier will know that the basic weapon of warfare, in those days, were the bow and sword. Without which no soldier will not venture into the battle field. Even the famed Goliath was geared in full battle order when he faced David with the stones and the sling. Isn't it a paradox then that David, one of the finest soldiers Israel had ever produced, proclaims that its not the bow and the sword that gives the victory. Its is the Lord, Jehovah, that gives the victory. I don't think David is trying to say that we should not prepare ourselves for warfare. His concern is that we recognize that ultimately its the Lord that gives the victory.
