The Challengers begin their first service in 2017

Image
This afternoon about 15 senior citizens from our church gathered for their first meeting in 2017. These are our seniors who gather regular for prayer and fellowship. I joined them this evening and loved the old classical songs they sang. Realized that I am not far from this group.  I shared with them about "earth shattering prayer", looking at the prayer of Paul and Silas in prison in Acts 16. The key verse was in  Acts 16:24-25 - Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. 26  Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off! Paul and Silas had a like style of prayer. They prayed: Everyday At midnight in an adverse environment in a bad physical condition They prayed because it was their lifestyle. I challenged our seniors to persist in  prayer and see amazing things hap

The new batch of eleven students commenced their training last week at PEC School of Ministry in Saigon. Another two more are expected to join this week.

Another amazing testimony

This evening Bro John Inbaraj shared his experience on the mission trip to India. He spoke of his personal encounter in the trip and how God healed his son. He told of the need to build more church buildings and challenged the people to just "come and see". The sharing blessed the hearts of many people.  After the service, there were three more sponsors for church buildings. For the year 2017, I had targetted 10 new church buildings in the mission field. Glory to God, we now have 12 buildings and its only Jan. And I have not even briefed the church on our missions plans yet.  I am humbled by what God is doing. My hear is overwhelmed by His goodness. Truly we can expect amazing things this year. To God be the glory.

Family Seminar for Church Planters

We conducted a Family Seminar at CHAI for our church planters. It was facilitated by Bro Preetam Patro from Patna, Bihar. Bro Preetam has been associated with HI for a number of years. About 47 couples attended the three day seminar. The feedback from the participants was good. I took one session on 18 Jan, "Doing the right thing the wrong way", looking at the life of Jacob and Rebekah.

Mission trip update -100th. Church dedication

Image
Sunday morning, we had a wonderful Sunday morning service in Rassolpura. The church was overflowing with people. Worship was vibrant and the people are more dignified and organized. Praise God for all that He is doing through Bishop Nehemiah and his leaders. It was also a time of celebration for Bishop Nehemiah, as he recounted 25 years of life as a christian.  Later in the after noon we drove for about two hrs to reach Nakrekal., Nalagonda District. We dedicated the 100th church building under PEC missions. It was in a village called Vootkur. About 60 people attended the dedication. It was a simple ceremony with a little bit of fanfare.  Bro Inbaraj’s parents, Mr and Mrs Amirtharaj Muthaiah, sponsored this building . It was simple but dignified ceremony. We sat there with gratitude and praise to our Lord who has enabled us to come this far in spite of all odds. It was rather emotional for my wife and me as we saw the fruits of our labour. God has indeed blessed this work an

Mission Trip to AP/Telangana

We arrived Hyderabad on 13 Jan early morning and Bishop Nehemiah was there to receive us. We had two dedications on the day. Both in Kurnool district.  The 1 st church dedication was at Mallepally village, Kurnool District and the 96th church dedicated under PEC. Our son Jonathan sponsored this church. My heart was refreshed, knowing that the God given legacy will carry on. Jeya shared the word on how Jacob wrestled with God to be blessed. The church building was small and it was almost full. The people were so happy to see us, especially now that they have their new building.  We baptised three ladies in this church. The second church  dedication was in another village about an hr's drive. The village is called Kuthakota, Many youths were in this church. Bro Alvin shared the Word and we prayed for many people.  By the time we reached Hyderabad, it was about 9pm.  On 14 Jan, we left early by flight for Rajahmoundry. From the airport we dr
