Thankful for sacrificial givers in Praise Evangelical Church, Singapore

Today I posted the following message in our PEC chat group  "Good morning church. If u are planning to give a Christmas gift for those in need, here is a suggestion. We have a pastor in Bakhadda, village, District: Banka, Bihar. His name is Kapil Dev having more than 300 believers in the church in village. He needs 200 Hindi Bibles. Each hindi Bible cost 200 rupees which is about $4. Total cost is about $750.  This will be a real Christmas gift for these poor people. If u want to be a blessing and sow into the lives of these new believers, pls pm me. This will be the best gift the can receive in a time like this. God bless" Within 5 minutes, a sister texted me saying she will sponsor the Bibles. I was humbled. by the instantaneous response. In a difficult time like this,  especially when finances are valued because of the economic downturn, there are people who are willing to give beyond their means. I am reminded of the poor widow who put in the 2 mites in the offering. Jesu

142th church dedication in Chhattisgarh

Image
My heart is overwhelmed as we dedicated PEC's 142th church building today in Tong Kongera Village, in Bastar District in Chhhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh is a hard ground.  I remember a few years ago we had to run for our lives because of persecution. But today we are seeing the fruits of our labour and nothing stops the move of God as we see people responding to the gospel in large numbers. We are indeed grateful to God for PEC Coordinator Rev  Prabhulal Nager  and his deputy Rev John Nag and the team of CPs for the hard work put in the last few years. These men risk their lives daily for the sake of the gospel. We also thank God for the dear sister who sponsored the building.    To God be the glory.    Covid or no Covid,  the kingdom of God advances to end gospel poverty.

Flood Relief for the Philippines

Image
Dear Friends,   Relief aid for victims of the floods in the Philippines   As you are aware that the Philippines was recently hit by a series of typhoons recently, the latest being Typhoon  Vamco, where many have died, and hundreds of thousands have been evacuated.   Pst Jose Laquihon Reyes, a good friend of mine and a Haggai alumni, is coordinating relief aid for the victims, especially those hit in the coastal areas. Together with his church, they are doing all they can to show the love of Jesus to the victims in these desperate times and also share the good news of Jesus. I have many pictures to show that the need is genuine. I know Pastor Reyes well and he is a good man.    Here's the overview of the flood victims ONLY in the coastal areas we are ministering to (we cannot handle all).    1. Brgy. SAMPIRUHAN Evacuation centers    A. Cardinal Covered Court - 165 families or/ - 616 individuals B. Multi-Purpose Hall - 75 families or/ - 249 individuals    TOTAL 1 = 240 families/865 p

God answers prayer

Since Covid19 hit us in the early part of the year, three times a week our church intercessors gather in the morning from 6-7am to prayer for the various needs. Although we could not meet face to face, we gathered in our own homes and prayed by the social platforms as a group.  We are amazed at how God is answering our prayers. I want to give glory to God for at least three requests we prayed and God answered. We prayed for a dear sister who needed to have her employment pass renewed. It was rejected because of age. We prayed and the Lord answered our prayer. Its was approve on appeal. Pst Lider in Indonesia. was tested positive for Covid19, He was warded in a hospital. Many pastors have died in Indonesia due to this disease. We interceded and the Lord heard our cry. Pst Lider has been healed and is back home We prayed for Pst John Phongsar, our coordinator in Myanmar. He was not well for the past few weeks and the Lord  touched him and he is recovering.  J ohn 14:12-14 - Very truly I

The power of unity

Unity in the church is the launchpad that the Holy Spirit uses to depose, dispossess and destroy the schemes of the enemy.   Leviticus 26:8  - Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand! All your enemies will fall beneath your sword.   We always hear these verse proclaimed by pastors reminding their flock of the power the Lord has given us over the enemy. But what is not emphasised is that these blessing is given to a group of people. I call them believers or the church.      And Jesus emphasised this parameters when he said in Matthew 16:18 -  Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and  all the powers of hell will not conquer it .   Christians need to move from an individualist mental model to one of a cooperate being. As an individual or a small group we can accomplish only little but with the body of Christ the results are exponential. (Lev 26:8)   It is through the church God, wants to

There Is no recession in the Kingdom of God

Malachi 3:10   - Bring your full tithe to the Temple treasury so there will be ample provisions in my Temple. Test me in this and see if I don’t open up heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams. (Message Bible)   The economies of the world can collapse but the treasury of heaven never runs dry. God honours those who honour Him with their resources.    I have experienced this over and over again in my life. When we gave to the Lord in terms of our time and resources, the Lord has poured on us his unmeasurable blessings, too much to contain. He is good and a rewarder of those  who earnestly seek him.   The scripture guarantees that God will pour His blessings on those who are committed and faithful in their tithes and offerings. This is probably the only place in scripture, where God challenges His people to, “test Him”.    In every other circumstances it will be sin ( Matthew 4:7 -   'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.')   I believe that the

The end is not the end - A poem specially written for the one who is struggling with life's challenges

Isaiah 26:3-4  -  You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!  4  Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.     It’s dawn again And another worrisome day is breaking I thought I had rested But my mind - restless  My headrest was moist  Tears were the cause Caused by preceding sorrows and fears of uncertain tomorrows Hope all this will end Or is this my end? No mercy in sight No  panacea or might But then I realised Why should this be my end? My past reminds me that My hand is in the Hand of Him Who knows the end from this end I don’t know what this day will bring But then, does it matter? My Jesus, He knows my end and the way to the end  And whatever happens today or the next He does it for the good of my end Why then should I fear the breaking of day For He who holds my hand, will ensure it does not break me P Ramachandran

Promise verse for Nov 20

Image
This morning Pst Alvin shared the promise verse from New 4:14. The devil does not attack a dead church. He attacks only those who are alive and moving forward. He highlighted 3 ways Nehemiah prepared the people to face the enemy: Pray -  Neh 4:4 -  Hear, O our God, for we are despised. Return their reproach on their own head. Reduce them to plunder in a land of exile! Prepare  - Neh 4:13 -  So I stationed people at the lower places behind the wall in the exposed places.  I stationed the people by families, with their swords, spears, and bows.  Position - Neh 4:16 -  From that day forward, half my men were doing the work and half were taking up spears,  shields, bows, and body armor.
