We did it

Image
We did it. After three months of rehearsals and trials, we finally completed the show. What seemed impossible with man is possible with God. The three nights were well attended. More than 160 new people attended the three nights. Now it for us to follow-up and see how best we can engage the new one and house them in PEC. Everyone who attended the show had only positive comments. For me it was something we have never seen in PEC.  It was God who enabled us to do it and it was He who accomplished it through our church. Never seen such display of unity and strength. No personal agenda, no ulterior motives. Its was only for God and evangelism.  Finally all we see the prophecies that were given concerning our church is coming to fulfilment.  Isaiah 54:4 -  Don’t be afraid—you’re not going to be embarrassed.  Don’t hold back—you’re not going to come up short.  You’ll forget all about the humiliations of your youth,   and the indignities of being a widow will fade from

Good Friday Morning Service

Image
We had a good turnout this morning. Since we are all gearing up for tonight's event "PAID IN FULL", I did not expect so many to turn up. I was pleasantly surprised. People were hungry and they were not disappointed. It was a wonderful service in a very long time.  I was sadly reminded of what transpired last year's Good Friday Service. in fact what transpired after the service. Painful indeed but it turned out for "our good". Last year people went back sorrowfully. This time it was with great rejoicing and eagerness to see what is going to happen the next three days. We praise God for the people who remained behind. Those who dared to look forward with God and PEC, and not back into history.  And guess what, its a different PEC you see today. A body of genuine believers with no personal agenda. Its God and His kingdom alone.  We wait expectantly for tonight's outpouring.

Paid in Full

Image
Yesterday we had the first full dress rehearsal for the "PAID IN FULL" production, PEC is organising. The cast alone more than 50 people, young and old all worked hard for the last three months to out this evangelistic program together.  When the organising team, led by Bro Siva, first broached the idea of this production in mid Dec 2015, there was some suspicion, even from the church board,  if this can even take off the ground. But the team persevered. They raised the money for the budget and got the act together. With much difficulty and lack of many resources, the team depended on the Holy Spirit to do the leading. Chief Pharisee Yesterday's outcome just when on to show, that all things are possible to anyone who dares to dream big with the power of the Holy Spirit. The comments from those who came for the preview was that "its one of the best they have seen". I too was overwhelmed by the commitment, unity and the passion of the entire cr

Weekend at Petaling Jeya, KL

Image
Last weekend I was at Subang Sungeiway Gospel Centre (SSGC). This is another brethren church moving out to break new grounds.  Once again it was good meeting Ritche and his wife Janice, wonderful couple with great passion for the Lord. Saturday evening, I spoke to the youths on the topic, : Missions - My obligation. About 40 youths attended the service and many made a commitment for the Lord. Sunday morning was palm Sunday. About 300 members attended the morning service. I spoke on the topic : Oh to be a fool for Christ, the text taken from 1Cor 4:6-17 .  Many responded to the Word.  Observations : This church is indeed moving forward, considering their brethren background. It was so fascinating to hear from Ritchie and Janice the transformation that is taking place. More hunger and more passion for the unreached. The congregation is more response than the last time I was here. There is excitement in  air. The youths are vibrant with great potential for exponential

Finally leaving for Home

Image
I am all checked-in and waiting in the departure lounge. Can't wait to get HOME. Its Sunday morning in Maui. Looking back, this has been a another milestone in my journey. Many good things has happened, even though I had to missed the ministry in the mainland. But I know all things work for good. God knew I needed this break. Much refreshed now. Prof Arthur was more like a father. No words sufficient to thank him. It was a privilege to have him sent me to the airport. Nestor is another guy that HI is blessed with. He gives his all for the Lord and inspire of being overworked, never complained but "I am here to SERVE".  I wish many more christians will be like this. Of course, Dr Joey and Ruel were always there to take good care. It was joy working with these men of God, men of God indeed. What more can I say of all the others, the staff and volunteers.  Specially blessed to meet Debbie, a volunteer from Canada. A kind lady with a pleasant disposition, always ha

Change in plans

I was due to fly out of Maui on Wed, 9 Mar. I was not well. I was scheduled to visit Nebraska to speak with HI sponsors and some church meetings. I had already packed by bags but was too weak to bring them to the lobby at the MPC. My transport leaves in an hour. So I asked the front desk if they can arrange for someone to bing my languages down. I went and slumped onto a church in the lobby. I was running a fever and terribly weak, yet determined to take the flight.  Some brothers seeing my condition came and prayed for me. I really appreciated that. Suddenly Prof Arthur appears from nowhere and asks me to go back to my room to rest. :You are not going any where until you get better". It must be the Holy Spirit's prompting. Because I knew if I had gone, I probably would not have survived.  Dr Joey gave me some medication and I collapsed in my bed, running high fever through out the night.  The trip cancellation was for a reason. I was "total rest in bed"

Update from Maui

Image
It has been quite an exciting week with the training in Haggai Institute. God is doing work with the participants. The classes have been very interatcive and good participation from them.  Some participants have been meeting me separately for prayer and counceling. God is good.  Today, Sunday, I had the opportunity to preach at Grace Chapel in Pukalani. It is about 40 minutes drive from Haggai Institute. About 100 people attended the service. I spoke in Missions. Many responded positively to the message. Praise God for the opportunity. After church service, Nestor, Ferdinand from Nigeria and Tutu from Indonesia (the other faculties) wet for lunch at Liana and enjoyed the good fellowship of men who love God.

Arrived Maui

Image
After more than 24 hrs of flight and transit, I arrived at the Haggai Institute Centre at Kehei, Maui yesterday noon. Was really sick, I guess due to no rest. Sore throat and a nose that was running like a tap. It was a joy to meet the people who are also so passionate about God and evangelism. Most of the participants have arrived, and a good lunch of people too.  This morning, I woke up much better after a good but interrupted sleep. I took the devotion for the volunteers. I encouraged that on how their service in HI is impacting the participants and indeed how it affected the lives of Jeya and me. I also shared with them how the HI training has been the defining moment in my life and ministry. This afternoon we had the official opening of the training. 60 leaders form 28 countries. Pirate with some of the participants. Looking forward to the remaining days. Praying that God will use me to impact the lives of these men.
