Agra Leadership Training

  For the next two week, I will be doing the Great Commission Module for the HighPointe Life Leadership Training Centre. There are 12 lessons in this module. We have about 29 participants, including four from Sikkim. Thanking God for the opportunity. Happy to see Pst John Rahul and Depark after some time.

Holy Spirit and fire...

This morning I spoke from Matthew 3:11 -    "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. I suggested   three important ways the Spirit is like a fire in the life of a Christian:  ·        The overwhelming Presence of God. Updates from Myanmar

Rejoice with us. My heart is overflowing with joy. Finally we were able to get some updates from our CPs in Myanmar. The current political upheaval has made travel and communications extremely difficult. In spite of the political crisis and the Covid pandemic, the work of God is still moving on. These places are in remote areas where Covid has not reached. But the military has beaten and imprisoned some of our CPs.  But you can see the work of the Holy Spirit even through difficult times, just like in the Book of Acts. Some pictures from the workers in two different places in Northern Chin state: and Paletwah region.  Extremely grateful to PEC Coordinator Pst John Phongshar  and  his wife Seng Mai Serah for all the hard work done through this partnership.   To God be the glory.

Words, mediations - pleasing in Your sight.

Psalms 19:14  - May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart   be pleasing in your sight,   Lord , my Rock and my Redeemer. Most of the prayers we make are often the “bless me” ones and it includes and entourage people we are accustomed to or the basic necessities in life.  But the prayer that we read above, can only be made by a person who is really after the heart of God. Many times I have read this verse, prayed and sung it too but never really understood the significance of this prayer. This is because if one is honest with oneself, we will find that in our lives our words and our thoughts always fall short of God’s standard. That is why this a often a dangerous prayer to make. While David puts the mouth and heart in sequence, Jesus revers the order when He said in  Luke 6:45  -  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abunda

Carrying your cross

Matthew 16:25 - Then Jesus said to his disciples,  “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.  Jesus made this statement after Peter's revelatory  understanding, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God,” and the subsequent harsh rebuke by Jesus when Peter tried to dissuade the Master from heading to the cross. Jesus was dead serious about His cross and He expects us to carry our own, if we want to be His disciples. The point is as disciples, each one of us has a different cross to carry. The cross that I carry may not be the  same  as yours. Yet we can draw some lessons from the statement Jesus made: Jesus was focused on the Purpose of His cross.   The Lord knew what He was on this earth. He knew His time was short. But no matter what that purpose had to be fulfilled. And nothing could discourager Him from achieving His purpose. His cross was always at the centre of  His journey, everything else was at the circumference. And

Great is your faithfulness

Lamentations 3:22-23 - Because of the  Lord ’s great love we are not consumed,  for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning;  great is your faithfulness. Lamentations in Hebrew is "Eikah" which means "How." It is believed that this book was written by the prophet Jeremiah. The book contains five poems that laments over the condition of the city of Jerusalem. The people of Israel and Judah failed to regard the many warnings the Lord made, asking them to repent of their sins. But they did not. The city was burnt to the ground and utterly demolished by the Babylonians in 586 BC, in contrast to the magnificent splendour that it once possessed.  The reason for God's chastisement on the people of Judah and on the city of Jerusalem are spelled out in the form of an appeal made to God to remember the great suffering of his people. Ezekiel 9:4-6 - My personal reflection

Ezekiel 9:4-6 - and said to him, “Go throughout the city of Jerusalem  and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it.” 5  As I listened, he said to the others, “Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity or compassion.  6  Slaughter the old men, the young men and women, the mothers and children, but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the old men who were in front of the temple.   I see God segregating those who have grieved and lamented over all the detestable things that are done in the city. These people will not be destroyed. But the rest are to be slaughtered and it started from those in leadership. As I reflect this scripture with the current situation, I see God trying to look for a group of people who will grieve and lament over what is going around us .  So many things are happening around us: Covid crisis, both in Singapore and especially in India a

Update on the work at Utesi village and surrounding villages in Rayagada District, Odisha, India

Bishop Anjan and his team visited the village today. By the grace of God, the work is progressing well in the mountains.  Church Planter (CP) Sanada, his wife Rita are really doing a great work.  We are seeing a change in the lives of the children, in terms of hygiene and cleanliness.   Tuition program is going on daily and everyday prayer meetings are being at CP Sanada’s home. Sunday services have also started in this village. The villagers are very thankful and please continue to pray that we will see the first convers to Christ. A local PEC church in Odisha sponsored some clothes. They could only afford to buy for some girls. This is how they look now. They are taking regular showers and brushing their teeth. We are providing them with daily breakfast  as well. The Lord has opened another village for us to move in. The name of this new village is  Jangjodi,  which is about 13 Km from Utesi, further up the mountains. There are more than 40 children above 4 years old in this village.

Heart breaking

Respected Sir, Greetings in the blessed name of Jesus Christ. As I informed earlier, I and Bro Lazarus went to Nagarjuna Sagar to visit the late Pst. Stephen’s house on 10 May 2021.  The late Pst Stephen’s wife Sis. Esther, his sister Maria, his brother in law Peter, their two children and unmarried sister were staying in the house.  Pst. Stephen was one of the senior pastors in PEC, and also member in the Regd. Governing Body.  From our beginning days he was with us and served the Lord faithfully.  We purchased the Land and build the church and on 29 th  May 2012 you dedicated the Church for the Glory of God. Around 30 to 40 families are worshiping our Lord every Sunday, he also conducting services at Right Bank and Karampudi. On Sunday 2 nd  night around 11PM he was admitted in General Hospital because of difficulty in breathing. Doctor gave treatment and he was on Oxygen ventilator.  Around 3 am oxygen cylinder became empty and no other cylinders to replace. They tried to shift him

Mothe's Day Message

Being Mother's Day, I was asking the Lord what am I to share this week, The Lord drew me to a mother that is not very much heard of.   As far as I can recall I can't remember anyone speaking in our church about this mother. She is Jochebed, the mother of Moses.  The text was taken from Hebrew 11: 23 -  By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict. Jochebed, in an astonishing example of God’s providence and mercy.H er faith in Jehovah God who had promised her forefathers, that they will be blessed and will be a blessing to the nations. Approach with confidence - Grace guaranteed

Hebrews 4:16 - Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. The reason why the writer to the Hebrews is urging God's people to approaching the throne of grace with confidence is explained in the earlier two verses. In Hebrews 4:14 , the writer says that Jesus is our High Priest and has ascended to heaven. As a High Priest Jesus intercedes on our behalf.  “Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them”  - Hebrews 7:25 Jesus is constantly at work even in the heavens, making intercession for us. It's important to note that when we were the enemies of God, Jesus died for us ( Romans 5:10 ). How much more now  that we are the sons and daughters of God. And don't forget that the devil is always accusing us before the throne.  Revelations  12:10 -  For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,    who accuses them

Pray for your enemies

One of the things, that I do quite frequently is to pray for "my enemies". Not that I love to do it  ðŸ˜‡ðŸ˜‡ but the Lord commanded us to do so.  They are not "enemies as in real enemies". While we still talk and even laugh, there is always a gap because of what has happened in the past. I guess probably I am not the only one in this category. I am sure most of us would fit the bill. Matthew 5:43-47 - “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’  44  But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,  45  that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.  46  If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?   47  And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Promoted to Glory - Rev. D. Stephen

  I Our hearts were grieved when today around 3:15am our PEC Pastor Rev. D. Stephen from Nagarjunasagar, Nalgonda Dist, Telangana, was called to the glory. He succumbed to Covid 19. He leaves behind a wife and sister. I have known Rev Stephen for a long time and he is one of our senior church planters. He is always joyful, humble and passionate about  church  planting and for ur Lord.  This parting is only temporary. We will meet soon at our Lord's feet. 

Promise verse for May 2021

  Today I shared the promise verse for our church. The text taken from Romans 8:31 - " If God is for us, who can be against us". I spoke on three important points: If God is for us, no Condemnation can be against us. If God is for us, no Condition or Circumstances can be against us If God is for us, no Confrontation can be against us. Why would God do this for us Because of His amazing love towards us Romans 8:32   -  He who did not spare his own Son,   but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?   You can hear the message at: https://youtu.be/m3aY_x76qNg
