Mission Trip to India

Image
We arrived this morning at Hyderabad after midnight. Bishop Nehemiah was there to receive us as usual. This time its only Bro Albert, Sis Josephine and me. I am schedule to return on 4 Jun while Bro Albert and Sis Josephine will continue to Patna to continue with the teaching for the new students in Bihar. The purpose of this trip is: To conduct training sessions for the church planters course Graduation of Church Planters Dedication of one new church About 22 church planters and some others attend the first sessions to day. Bro Alert is teaching on the "Rulership in Life" series.  The weather in Hyderabad is extremely hot soaring tabour 40degC. Fortunately we don't have to out travelling so we were spared the heat of the day.

Feeling better today

Since I came back from the US, I lost my voice. I could hardly hear myself and ears blocked. Felt extremely exhausted and tired. Probably the long month of back to back travels, is finally taking a toll on me. One week in Myanmar, then to Malaysia and two weeks in the US could have been a factor. Coupled with jet-lag and changing temperatures.  Guess age is catching up. Jaya said, "Maybe God is telling you something". The doctor said that I will have to zip my mouth for 48 hrs if I want my vocal cords to heal. A near impossibility. A virus infection it seems.  Today, felt a little better. I can hear my voice, albeit coarse. Nevertheless a good sign. Father is finally answering prayers of the saints.  Have been advised by many not to go for the trip to India on Monday. But the program has been planned, people would be waiting and the work must go on. Unless I hear a clear direction otherwise from above, the trip is on.  I am reminded of the verse in 2 Cor 12:9

Power to proclaim

Its 3:30AM and I was awaken to read the scriptures. The verse in Acts 4:31 came very strongly to my mind -  After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit  and spoke the word of God  boldly. Why was the Holy Spirit given? Jesus said in Acts 1:8 - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;  and you will be my witnesses  in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,  and to the ends of the earth. ” The primary reason why the Holy Spirit was given was for His disciples to be bold to speak as witness of His Name. In fact in Acts 2, when God pure out His Holy Spirit for the first time, it was to proclaim His world with boldness. It was Peter the coward who had earlier denied Christ, now speaks with boldness, after he was filled with the Holy Spirit. Again in Acts 4, it was the boldness of Peter and the  apostles that took the leaders of the tempe by surprise .  Acts 4:13 -  When they saw the cou

A new destination perhaps?

Its 3:30AM. Although I am sick and tired in body, sleep seems to run away from me. Maybe its jet-lag. I don't think so. Mauritius keeps coming to my mind. There is one participant from that country who is attending the seminar in HI now. A young man with a great testimony. He shared with me his passion for evangelism and wants to start a church planting movement in Mauritius. He asked if I would be keep to help. I am reminded of Paul's words in 1 Cor 16:8-9 -  But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost,   because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me. Is God leading me to a new destination?  Hmmm

Arrived Home

I finally touched down Singapore about midnight 19 May after a wonderful trip to the US and the HI training facility in Maui. It had been a wonderful experience. in Maui. May participants shared how they had been blessed with the sessions on Biblical Mandate. Some were in tears during the sessions as the Spirit of the Lord moved in a gentle way. Praise God for His doing. Being and sharing with the other facilitators was such blessing. Men of God with a great passion, yet modest when talking about their achievements for God. These men have high standing in society yet serve God with such sincerity and humility.  Also had the privilege of sharing with the volunteers of the impact of HI training on my life. These people have been such a blessing to the participants and a great lesson to me on serving God with humility.  True servant leadership. Today is my birthday and I praise God for all His manifold blessings. Unfortunately I have been sick the whole day and in bed

Facilitating in Maui

The last few days in Maui has been a blessing. I have started facilitating the subject, "Biblical Mandate for Evangelism". 60 participants from 30 different countries. Very lively group with a lot of contributions from the participants. God is already started a work in the ives if these men. Many are realising the need for evangelism in their own countries. Tea-break It was also a joy to meet the volunteers and other faculty. Especially blessed to meet Rev Tissa and his wife. What a joy to meet this great man. With the other faculty It has  also been a time of rest and walking down the beach in the early hours of the morning. It to reflect and reposition. Seeking God for His plans and guidance. Moon-set in Maui Simply magnificent.

What a beautiful day. I arrived last night after along journey from Grand Rapids. Its always a joy to be back here. Thanking God for another opportunity to impact leaders from around the world. Its Wednesday, 9 May here. This morning I woke up at 3:30 am. I guess still struggling with jet-lag. Looking forward to a great time of seeing God work through the lives of the participants in these sessions. There are 60 participants from 30 countries here.

Reminiscing my days in Grand Rapids

I finally concluded my visits with Donald Mackenzie this evening. Over the last three days, we had been visiting donors for Haggai Institute and telling them what the program is doing for the participants. I met some very sincere and faithful people who have a heart for God and evangelism. In spite of all the negative things we hear about the US, it's so reassuring to know that there are still many good people in the US who love the Lord and His Word.  There are so many churches in Grand Rapids but the numbers are not growing. So many divergent groups, many shades of Christianity, some bordering into cults or false prophets. Yet there is the remnant who fear God and who obey His Word. Specially blessed visiting Carl and Terrie in Holland, Michigan. Donald was kind to drive me to their home. Good people who are passionate for God and His work. After reading about their daughter, finally came face to face with Abby. She is sweet and friendly. We had dinner and ice-cream

Finally arrived Grand Rapids

It was a long hectic travel but I did not feel the tiredness. Time simply flew by. First it was 15 long hours from Singapore to San Francisco via United Airlines. Good flight in spite of all the negative comments on United recently in the media. After two hours layover at the airport, another 5 hours to Newark. By the time I reached Newark it was 8:30PM. Not much sleep on the flights though. But took the time  to update my slides for my presentations in Haggai. Jessica was there to pick me up. Then we went to buy dinner and went to her apartment. Slept for about 2 hrs and at 4:30am too a cab to JFK. USD40!!!. The highest cab fare I have paid so far for a 20 minute drive. Welcome to America, the best country in the world. After five hours of flight time and transit, arrived at Grand Rapids. My host Mr Donald Mackenzie was there to greet me. What a city this is. So clean, so much space, so cold, even though it was spring. Thanks for the warm jacket Donald brought for me.  A fi

I was the camp speaker for the SS Gospel Chapel held in Genting Highland Resort in Malaysia from 29 Apr to 1 May. More than 100 couch member attended the camp. The theme of the camp was on Evangelism. And the church had a golfer the members: REACH ONE FOR CHRIST IN ONE YEAR. Very similar theme to PEC's own goal for this year. A very untied church with a good mixture of youth and older folks. I took three sessions. The following subjects were addressed: Mandai forEvangelism Vision for Evangelism The Urgency for Evangelism Praise God for the opportunity to minister at this church camp.  After the camp, I visited Jeya's aunty in PJ. She is suffering from a late stage of cancer.  On 3 May, I leave gain for the US for ministry with Haggai Institute.
