Sunday service in Rantau.

Today is the Lord's day and it was a break form the facilitation we are doing at the HLE. I asked Pst Matthew if I could attend his  church. Pst Matthew a young man and his wife Sandra help out in the logistics and administrant of the program. He asked if I could share in the service. His church is located in a small town called Rantau, in the outskirts of the major town Seremban. As we drove towards his church, Pst Matthew showed me the many small estates that are lodged within the oil palm plantations. Many Indians live in these quarters. Reminded me of the estates that we used to visit years back in the 1970s. Layang Layang and South Malay estates.  "All these people need the gospel", he said.  I was touched by Pst Matthew's passion and his personal testimony. In spite of the lack of resources and the many persecution from the Hindus in that area, they are faithfully serving the Lord. It was a small Tamil church. No instruments except a drum. I shared on the love o

1st trip of the year 2024

Good morning. It's a  pleasant  day in Singapore. I am sitting  comfortably  and sipping my morning coffee at T4, Changi Airport. Jonathan never fails to send me to the airport, no matter how late or early the  time  is.💓 This is my first overseas trip for the year. This time to Port Dickson for the HLE, something I always look forward to. About 60 participants from more than 30  countries  will be gathering for their life  transforming   experience, just like when I went through a similar program in 2006. It was a defining movement. It changed my life completely. What's amazing out this experience is that I get to meet like minded christian leaders, highly qualified in the secular field, but are filled with passion and commitment for the Lord and His kingdom. In spite of their achievements, they serve the Lord with a humble spirit.  It's a time of personal renewal for me and at the same time to impact all these participants about the Cultural Mandate and the Great Commiss

Sunday morning service at CCS

This morning I was invited to speak at Charismatic Church of Singapore in Geylang. This was my first speaking engagement outside PEC for the year.  Good group of believers who love the Lord. The worship was engaging the spirit and I was blessed. I spoke on "Giving God the Glory in all that we do", the text taken from 1 Cor 10:31. I focused on the practical aspects of giving God the glory in the following areas: Individual Church Community Nations Thanking God for this and the many opportunities to minster in other churches. To God be the Glory.

Let your light shine before men....

Update from the  field   from Bishop Anjan, Odisha, India. ================ 19 Jan 24 Dear sir, This is Bondli Village , 26 km from my place. This village is located in a very dangerous place on the mountain . After we crossed 2 mountains of hight 5000 feet from sea level.  No proper road or electricity in this village. Very backward people. Literacy is zero percent.  There are more than 40 children in this village . No school here . If anyone wish to go then he or she has to walk 15 kms to reach school.    When I asked whether children go to school? They said no , not even one. It was really very painful for me when I heard them saying that their children never seen school.  There is no facility of medicine for sick children or women during their carrying period. 26 kms is not very far but the place they are living is too difficult to reach.  Dear sir please pray that very soon we can start a tuition centre here. I'm also planning to buy lots of medicine    for malaria , cold feve

A devotion on Obedience and Sacrifice

Obedience is the hallmark of our simple faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. I remember during my formative Christian years, we used to sing an old hymn. The chorus reads like this: Trust and obey for there is no other way. To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.   This obedience is best seen in our master Himself. The Bible tells us in  Philippians 2:8  -  And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming  obedient  to death—   even death on a cross! If Jesus Himself obeyed the father to fulfil His mission on earth, how much more you and I.   Obedience to God is based on  three important principles:   1.       Obedience is Steadfast in Love for the Lord. In fact, our love for the Lord is very much tied to “obedience”. Jesus said in  John 14:23  -  “Anyone who loves me will  obey  my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” If we truly love the Lord, then  obedience to His commands  is the natural repone of our love

How time flies and it was just like yesterday when we walked down the  aisle . One thing we decided when we tied the knot. To serve the Lord all the days of our lives. By His grace, we are still climbing the mountains and the valleys to do what the Lord wants us to do - End gospel poverty. My journey on God's plan has not been easy. It was filled with more  mountains  than valleys,  more  pain than happiness. more sorrow than joy and more  loneliness than crowds.  Yet in the midst of all these, I can truly say the Lord has been my strength and shield. And my wife, a gift from God,  has been by my side through all these  tumultuous  terrain. How true the Word, "Two is better than one". It was not easy for Jeya, but she kept up well in the journey. Encouraging, praying and rebuking at times 😅😏 Being the source of comfort, wisdom and strength.  Two differnt characters. I am the daring risk taker but she is the cautious  one. Both are essential for a balanced and fruitf

Love has another name

On 3 Jan as I was walking to my car, a lady stopped me. She is from India and works as a helper in my friend's house. My wife and I often visit that home for fellowship and she always serves us with such great humility and care. She gave me a "red packet". Usually these are love offerings given to the church or pastors. She said that it was her son's birthday and she wanted to bless some less fortunate kids. (She knows that we have children's homes in India and Myanmar). "Please buy some good food for the children". I could see tears whelming in her eyes. My heart sank. How can I take money from someone who really needs the money for her own family. I know the many needs that  she had.  She does not earn much and she has been away from her home in India and has not seen her children for more than a year. She could have easily used the money for her own children and yet... But I did not want to deprive her of her blessings. Jesus said, "Give and it s

Update from Odisha - New Year service Bishop Anjan  submitted  the following  report.  "For the first time in history, this year we conducted a New Year service at Utesi . As you know before we came here three years ago, there were no believers in this village in the mountain. This is the same village where they killed a missionary many years ago. But by the grace of God, we are able to conduct the tuition program (SIT) and the villagers are open to the gospel. The village head himself invited us to conduct this program. Shadrach home children led the worship. Two of the boys are from this village and the people were surprised to see what the tribal children can do when they follow the Lord Jesus. After that I shared a short message on God's love. The village head himself translated the message. This has never happened before. This is a breakthrough. I believe the whole village of 18 families will soon come to accept the Lord.  Then we shared food to the villagers . We had pre
