Weekend at HighPointe - Klang

Image
It was  an exciting weekend at Klang. Jeya and I took a bus from Lakin Bus terminal in Johor. The journey was smooth and comfortable and took us about four hours.  It was great joy to be back with Pst Steven Mohan and his wife Flora. It was Flora's birthday and we celebrated it with a good dinner. (Klang food is real cheap and good😂) I preached in the Sunday morning service and my topic was "The Battle of wills". We contemplated on the event that took place at the Garden of Gethsemane, and how Jesus submitted to the Father's will. I believe it was God's word for the church. After the service a group of members took us for a good "nasi lemak lunch", one of the best I have had, in Klang. And as usual we always adjourn to a chendol stall by the roadside for the "best chendol in the world". Just a group of us sitting on stools under a shade of a cheery tree and good fellowship, reminiscent of the good old days in Naval Base. Looks like a senior ci

Tribals at the mountains

Image
The afternoon was the most challenging journey on the mission trip. We set out to visit the three tuition centres up in the  Niyam Giri Mountain. First was the  Utesi village . A simple tribal village mostly mud houses but the environment is clean. There are about twenty homes and about 30 children are receiving tuition. 3 children form this village are now in the Shadrach Home and they are progressing very well. Gaddiel shared a story with the children, who listened very attentively. We distributed sweets to the kids and parents. Pst Sanada and his wife Rita had been working very hard in this village. Together with daughter Nancy, they are staying in a small room. It was very difficult to get into the house as the door was low and narrow. As we prayed for this family, tears were just rolling down my cheeks as I witnessed the sacrifice and the passion of these young couples  🥲 . Very minimum facilities and yet serving the Lord and the village faithfully. Their daughter Nancy, three ye

This morning we had the graduation ceremony for 12 CPs. There were more ladies than men in this cohort. Many CPs and relatives showed up for the graduation. Bishop Ezra shared the Word to encourage the new CPs even as they go out to do the work of church planting.

2 church dedications in Odisha

Image
Today we had two church dedications. The first church was located in  Patanagud . We had to travel about two hours to get there. While the main roads were good, the forest tracks were bumpy and undulating. By the time we arrived, a welcoming party was waiting to receive us with drums and singing, in the traditional tribal way.   A large group of people had gathered for the church dedication. I was amazed to see the extend of the work done by the CPs. As I was walking through the village, everyone from the village huts were greeting us “Praise the Lord” with hands folded. Bishop Anjan explained that the whole village has accepted the Lord. I was moved with joy.Jeshua shared his testimony and  Gaddiel shared the Word.  It was almost 2PM when we finished the service. No lunch for the visitors as we “dare not try the village food” but thankfully Bishop Anjan had packed some biscuits, coffee and fruits for us.  😀 We moved on for the next church dedication which was a thirty minutes’ drive

Sunday morning at Rasoopura - 5 Mar 23

This morning we worshipped at PEC Rasoolpura. It was a joy to be back again at our “second home”. Gaddiel and Baharath shared their testimonies and Jeya share the Word. After a quick lunch we had to rush to the airport to catch our flight to Vishakhapatnam (Vizag). We arrived on time and were greeted by Bishop Anjan (PEC Coordinator, Odisha), Pst Joshua and his team from Vizag, at the airport. It was so good to see all these men of God after a long time. We are indeed thankful to Pst Joshua and his team for hosting us for the short duration and taking us to the railway station for our next destination in Bissham Cuttack, Odisha.

Pastors/Church Planters seminar

Image
This morning we had the PEC church planters/pastors seminar at YMCA.  About 125 people attended the seminar.  This was followed by the consecration of Bishop Ezra Kunaraz and the ordination of Rev Anil Dadala. It was a honourable moment of appreciation for both these men.   This was followed by the graduation service for 12 church planters. It was our joy to hand them the certificates.  That evening we had an exciting children’s program at Rasoolpura. Jeya and the three young men, taught the kids songs, did a skid and told a Bible story. This was followed by a dinner for these slum kids. It is a joy to see this outreach work and many are coming to the Lord.

Mission Trip to Hyderabad and Odisha :3-10 Mar

Image
This was our first trip to Odisha after more than 3 years. I was very much looking forward to this trip. Together with my wife Jeya, Bishop Ezra Kunaraz from Elim Kairos Church, Berastagi, Medan and three young men from PEC (Gaddiel, Baharath and Jeshua) joined us on this trip. For many of them this was the first time to India and Odisha.         Although it was a short trip, it was compact and we covered much ground and saw the work of the church planters in remote places, areas where no one has ever been with the gospel. We also saw the desperate need to bring the gospel to the unreached areas. Gospel poverty still exists.   I am also thankful to Bishop Samuel Sharma and Bishop Thomas Jaya who came to Hyderabad for the Bishop consecration service. This service was specially arranged for Pst Ezra from Berastagi. We have seen his hard work for the Lord and have decided to confer this honour. We also had the ordination ceremony for our Kerala and Bangalore Coordinator, Pst Anil Dadala.

National Seminar in Miri

Image
On 27-28 Feb, I had the  privilege  to  facilitate  the subject of  Biblical  Mandate  to a  group of participants in Miri,  Sarawak. This is my first trip to Miri. My first session was to commence at 4:45pm. After my night shift, Jonathan took me to the airport well ahead of time. But my departure was delayed due to the late arrival. BY the time I arrived Miri it was 4:00PM. Thank God the seminar hall was near the airport and the immigration did not take much time to clear. By the time I reached the seminar hall, it was 4:35PM. Just 10 minutes to load my slides and get ready. I enjoyed the sessions. The feedback was good. Thanking God for another opportunity to be a blessing.  I was richly blessed to be with like minded, passionate team of facilitators and organisers form the Haggai alumni. Awww...thank God for this team. Their love and passion for the Great Commission and for one another is simply overwhelming. You get recharged and rejuvenated just being with these people.  Miri is
