Missions Week - 29 Jan 12

Spoke at two services in church today, being the missions Sunday. Great achievements for the year 2011. Evangelism teams started over 400 new cells/house groups in villages in AP alone in 2011. There were many more achievements to praise God for. Giving Church - Poor yet rich 2 Cor 8:1-5 Paul cites the Macedonian churches as an example of giving. 5 Principles of giving as seen in the Macedonian churches They gave generously - verse 2 The gave voluntarily - verse 3 They gave persistently - verse 4 They gave joyfully - verse 2 They gave sacrificially - verse 3 How is this possible? PEC Orissa CP Training Centre

Image
Another historical moment. PEC's Church Planters Training Center gets underway in Orissa. It was commissioned on 5 Jan by Rev John Signey, our coordinator for Tamil Nadu. 10 young men are undergoing this six months in-house training program to equip them in evangelism and church planting. We thank God for the sponsors and for Pst Anjan who is looking after the centre and the church planters in this state. Please pray that these men will become the evangelists of the future, reaching the remote villages in Orissa for Christ. Also remember the faculty, seated in the front row, that they will impact the lives of these students. All Glory to God.

Mission Trip to Chennai/AP 13-20 Jan 2012

Psalms 100:5 - For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Praise God for another milestone in our missionary journey. My wife and I went on this trip. We were indeed blessed to see and hear the progress of the work. On 13 Jan we conducted a mini seminar with our church planters (CPs) from Tamil Nadu. We gathered in a church in the afternoon. Bro Samuel Premkumar (an HI alumni) and myself took some teaching sessions for the church planters. We mingled with them and learnt about the many challengers our CPs are facing. Yet in the midst of the many hurdles, the CPs are persevering and pressing on to reach the remote villages with the gospel. Later that night we took a flight to Hyderabad. On 14 Jan , we had the combined graduation of our three training centers from AP. Another HI alumni from Chennai, Bro Raja Miller joined us for two days on the trip. 32 people were trained in Evangelism and Church Planting. It was a joy to wit

Relief Aid for Cyclone and Fire VIctims in AP

Image
On 3rd Jan, PEC workers, led by Bishop Nehemiah provided basic provisions to about 80 families who were affected by the cyclone and the fire in Uppada, about 21km from Kakinada, AP. The provisions included blankets, rice, oil, and other basic effects. A minister from the AP government was at site and he witnessed the assistance rendered by PEC to the victims. Our PEC workers witnessed first hand the devastation caused by the cyclone. A church in the village and many huts were destroyed. Most of them members of the church. Through this relief aid, many families were blessed and they were able to experience the love of God. Lets pray that the Holy Spirit will touch the hearts of these people and they will acknowledge Jesus as Lord. The local pastor and members have asked if we could help to rebuilt the church for them. God willing, we will do that. Our heartfelt thanks to the sponsor in Spore, whose passion for the Lord and the lost, has enabled us to touch thousands for the kingdom of G

Cyclone Thane hits Kakinada just before the New Year

The cyclone hit the coastal area in AP, especially in Kakinada area. Most of the roads have been blocked due to floods. One of the areas affected is Mayapatanam in Uppada. One of our associated pastor, Pst Prakasam is ministering in this village. About 200 families have been made homeless and many of them belong to our church in that area. We are planning to provide some relief aid to these victims and through this program show the love of Jesus to the helpless. Please continue to pray. Pst Nehemiah is liaising closely with Anil who lives in that area to see how best we can render aid. We want to thank God for our sponsor, whose passion for the lost and needy has enabled us to do this relief work. All Glory to God.
