Sunday in South Korea

Image
This morning we had two services in Ganghwa Church. We were blessed to be here and they were blessed too. We praise God fro all His blessings and for His mighty presence. In the afternoon we went to an Old Folk Home for Ladies. Jeya shared the Word to the inmates. We had a good time of just ministering to these old ladies, most of them in their sunset days. What a blessing. Looking at NKorea just across the river Later in the evening we took an hour's drive to view North Korea's frontier from the Gangahwa Peace Observation deck. The feeling was just omnious  watching North Korea from the Han River . This nation needs Jesus. With Rev Paul Kye and his wife Esther

PEC Board members family get together

Image
Tonight we had the first board members' family get together.  It was pot luck and we had a good time of getting to know each other. Coming together like this helps to bond and understand our families and needs. We discussed how spouses can help in mentoring and serving in the chruch. Good food and great fellowship. Looking forward to the next.  Alvin and Punitha joined us later (not in picture)

Sunday services at PEC

Image
I had the privilege of speaking at both the morning and evening services on Sunday as it was Mission Sunday . The message was entitled "Encountering God" based on Isaiah 6:1-13 Anyone who encounters God, encounters His holiness (verses 1-4) To be holy is to be distinct, separate, in a class by oneself To be holy is to be morally pure. For God to be holy is for Him to be holy in relation to every aspect of His nature and character. Three things happen when a person truly encounters Jesus 1.        1. Inward examination                 N otice his guilt:       I am undone      I am a man of lips    I  I well amongst people of unclean lips       2.   Vertical comprehension       A person who encounters God – encounters God’s heart       Verse 8  - Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”       3.   Horizontal obligation       E ncounter the world

Promise Verse for the month - Jul

I will not forget you. See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands Isaiah 49:15-16 - “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget,   I will not forget you!  See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. We see four important principles about God’s love from this verse 1.          His affection for us is greater than that of a mother’s affection “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? 2.         His thoughts to us is much greater than any other’s thoughts Though she may forget,   I will not forget you! 3.          His devotion to us is far beyond any other’s devotion See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; 4.         His faithfulness to us   outweighs any other Your walls are ever before me.
