Ruth - Your God my God

Image
Ruth 1:16 - "Y our God my God" Naomi and her husband's decision of straying out of God's boundary, left her lonely, depressed, empty and in despair. The consequence of the wrong decision also affected her daughters-in-law. Isn't this what sin does? John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.   Naomi  decides to go back to Bethlehem. But what influenced her to go back? Verse 6 - When Naomi heard in Moab that the Lord had come to the aid of his people by providing food for them. God always respond when His people return to Him. 2 Chro 7:14 - "I f my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." But for Noami, there seems another reason for going back. Food. Even after the horrendous experience of straying out of God's will and suffering the excruciating circums

Straying out of God's boundry - Ruth 1:20-21

Image
Ruth 1:20-21 - Don’t call me Naomi, ” she told them. “Call me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life very bitter.   I went away full, but the Lord has brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi? The Lord has afflicted me; the Almighty has brought misfortune upon me.” Failures, problems with spouse, problems with children, trouble at the work place, sickness one after anther. Everything seems to be going the wrong direction. Does that give us a good reason for getting angry/disappointed with God, wanting to do things our own way?. Especially so for a christian. Why talk about God's way when the way in front of me is a mess, even though I am a good christian. This was what Naomi and her husband faced in Bethlehem. There was a famine in the land and the "House of Bread" was facing a drought with no food to eat. Maybe they were not responsible for the famine. But why punish us, good obedient Jews. With two sons to feed, what choice do they have? "Its

Speaking engageent at ECOS

This morning I had the privilege of sharing the Word at Emmanuel Church of Singapore in Geylang. About 80 people gathered in the church for the worship service. Praise God for the anointed Word. Many were blessed and touched by the message. All Glory to God. Text: Luke 14:6-9 Key thought : God has a purpose for you and its not based on your environment Key phrases: Ps 23:6 - Surely goodness and mercy will follow... not we follow after them The church is the only organization that exist for non-members If no new people are added to the church, its no longer a church but a club.

The main objectives of the trip were as follows:  Combined graduation of Church Planters 2 Day PEC Church Planters' Family Seminar 2 Church dedications Sunday service in Rasoolpura We also planned to have a gospel meeting and a house meeting but were canceled due to the tight schedule.  We stayed with Bro Mohan's family and as always, they were a great model of living like Jesus. Praise God for such God fearing people. Combined Graduation This was held on 7 Jan evening at Rasoolura Church. 30 students graduated from our three training centers in AP. It was a joy to see young people coming forward to serve the Lord. Pst Joel shared the Word. Over the last seen years more than 300 students have been trained as church planters, just in AP alone. Most of them are now Pastors and leaders in the different districts in AP. Family Seminar The semin

A trying Wedding Anniversary - Celebrating 28 years of God's faithfulness

Image
My wife and I celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversary on 11 Jan in the mission field. That morning Pst Nehemiah greeted us with a bouquet of flowers in our hotel room. Later we were pleasantly surprised when PEC pastors and members, during the church dedication in a village in Khammam, celebrated our anniversary. It was a moving event for both of us. Even when we were away from home, God still surprises us in very sentimental ways. But it was a wedding anniversary that tested our faith. Ministering together on our wedding anniversary day It was a very, very difficult day. As it was our anniversary, I tried to get the best hotel in town. At least Jeya can have some comfort. It was the best in Khammam town! Cost Sing $35. You can gauge its quality by the price. It was certainly better than many other places we had stayed before. Breakfast was "room service". The restaurant below does not serve breakfast and they had to get it from "somewhere else", God know

Support needy pastors who need basic help. Manage and support the Shadrach Home and the other two social projects in AP and Orissa. Partner with JF for the work in Bangldesh. Start new CP work in three other countries. You can help us in reaching these goals by providing: Your treasure . - You can commit yourself to give faithfully and generously to the Lord in this coming year. Jesus said, "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" (Matthew 6:21 NKJV). Whenever we put our money into something, we develop a vested interest in it. This is something worthwhile investing as it deals with eternity. Your talent. God has gifted each believer in different wa

Closing 2013 - A year of Grace

Image
We had a good service last night. Well planned program which started with Praise and Worship.  I shared the closing message for 2013  in church last night and Pst Joel gave the message for the New Year.  I looked at 2013  from three perspectives: 1   From the view point of the world 2.  From the church point of view and 3.  From the point of view of our individual selves.   Finally in closing I looked at the passage in  Luke 13:6-9.  1.    The owner had a purpose for the fig tree Verse 6 tells us that he planted the fig tree. He took the effort and time to plant the tree. It was not grown by the way side or grow in the wild. It was intentional.  God has planted us in this church, in this community, in this country for a purpose The Bible says God has a purpose and a plan for each and everyone of us. Jer 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. If
