Looking back at 2011

2011 has indeed been the best and the worst year in my entire life. As far as ministry is concern it is the best. I look back now at 2011 amazingly, I can testify that this has been a most fruitful year for me personally. I have learnt to engage with the Lord in wonderfully new ways. My walk with Him has been excitingly fresh and the Lord has been so wonderful. By God’s grace we were able to impact the lives of many people from all over the world, through our mission work in India and Bhutan and through Haggai Institute. Many church planting movements are springing up in Indonesia, Malaysia and India as a result. In the mission field we were able to extend our work to Orissa and the three NE states. We were able to bring the gospel to more people than we can ever imagine. Many trained as church planters. The Lord opened doors for church meetings in the US, Malaysia, India, Nepal and Indonesia. There were opportunities that I had to turn down because I felt so inadequate. But it d

As we approach the new year, I am reminded of the verse in Jer 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Be assured that all that happened in 2011 was not meant forharm for "all things God works for the good of those who love him". His plans are to prosper you. Dare to dream for 2012. Dan 11:32 - the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. Amen

One old man was sitting with his 25 years old son in the train. Train is about to leave the station. All the passengers are settling down into their seats. As the train started the young man was filled with alot of joy and curiosity. He was sitting on the window side. He went out one hand and feeling the passing air. He shouted,... "Papa see all the trees are going behind". Old man smile and admired his son's feelings. Beside the young man one couple was sitting and listing all the conversation between father and son. They were little awkward with the attitude of the 25 years old man behaving like a small child. Suddenly the young man again shouted, "Papa see the pond and animals. Two years on....Dad

Image
Was at the beach at 6.00AM, near the place where we laid our Dad's bones to rest. It has been two years since he left. It was drizzling lightly, the path muddy and soggy due to the December rains. Could not go on the 17th Dec due to work and the bad weather. Found a spot to sit and reflect. I thanked God for the memories, for my Dad's life and reminiscent how he loved the Lord. A vacuum indeed but replaced by the surpassing mercies of His Highness. No tongue can tell, no voice proclaim, his blessings He has bestowed. His mercies are new every morning. Need I ask for more. I will ask no more, my Lord and my Life. As dawn began to break through the cloudy skies, a light kept flashing in the distance. The disdain form a familiar song began to ring as I looked across the waters. Let the lower lights be burning! Send a gleam across the wave! Some poor struggling, fainting seaman You may rescue, you may save. Death is only the beginning of eternity. God help me do all I can to save t

Another church attacked in AP

Image
About four masked men from a fanatical group attached our outreach work in Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh while Pst Bangaru and his members were worshiping the Lord today during the Sunday morning service. The militants hurled rocks at the members and fled. Pst Bangaru (picture on the left taken in hospital) and some of the members were injured. Thus is one of the first churches built by PEC. Pst Bangaru is a very hardworking man. Because of the po or conditions, he works as a delivery man in the morning and does the ministry in the afternoon and evening. We have visited this church many times. It just next to a railway track. Both he had his wife have been ministering to many colleges students in the nearby town. Many Hindu converts have been attending his church and that's the reason for the attack. The police have been called in. Our coordinator will update us further. Pray for peace and strength at this time when we remember the birth of our Lord. Matt 16:18 -... upon this rock

PEC Gospel Van

Image
By the support of some committed Christians in Singapore, we were able to purchase this new van for the purpose of sharing the gospel in the villages. This is a hardy and effective vehicle to carry people and equipment to the villages. We thank God for the people who have contributed to purchase this vehicle. May God meet all their needs. We are in need of a few more vehicles like this. It cost $7000 to purchase one but its a good investment in God's kingdom.

Slum kids get the time of their lives

Image
For the first time in their lives a group of children who attend our PEC Jeevan Jothi Children's program in the Mudford slum, got a chance to enjoy the thrills and frills of a theme park in Hyderabad. It is the first time someone has ever brought them to a paid park and the kids were simply overjoyed. The treat included refreshment and a good lunch. Both the kids and their parents were thankful. Thanks to those who have contributed to support this work. PEC Jeevan Jothi is an educational program conducted in a slum in Hyderabad. About 100 kids are befitting from this program. In the process of giving them basic education, we also introduce them to the love of Jesus. Through this kids we are also reaching out to the parents as well. We are planning for a Christmas program for the kids in the slum. Pst Nehemiah and team - Thanks for making the arrangements.

Urgent trip to Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Image
I am at Doha International Airport, waiting for my next connection to Singapore which is about seven hours time. My brother Kumar was diagnosed with liver cancer a few weeks ago and is undergoing chemo treatment. Together with my mom, we left Spore on 23 Nov to visit him. Doctors have said that my brother is responding well to the treatment. He has still another three rounds of chemo treatment to go. Thanks to all who have been praying for us. It was encouraging to see him in high spirits and to meet Smita and Manisha. Their faith is strong. Manisha is really growing fast and she is smart. Weather w as cold but manageable. Mom was having difficulty with the weather. She will be there for another two months. Since it was thanksgiving season, it was turkey for three days in a row. I told Smita, if its going to be turkey again, I am fasting. Thank God, my mom cooked spicy Indian chicken curry.... I pray that Indians will be the cooks in heaven. Surprise, surprise. The cry of the unsaved

Image
W hether you like it or not, though the unsaved may seem happy or satisfied, there is a silent cry that screams out of them, many times without their knowledge. It’s the cry for a savior, a cry to be certain of their destiny. Only a Christian who is passionate about the Great Commission hears it loud and clear. Can you hear the cry of the unsaved?
