Mission completed

Image
We arrived at the airport in good time for out departure to Singapore .   There was a delay of about an hour for departure from Hyderabad. The moment I sat on the plane seat, I fell into a deep sleep, clearly exhausted, and only got up when the aircraft was about to land in Singapore at about 6:30 AM.    Thanking God for His goodness and mercy. It’s always good to be back home. Urgent Needs The church in Guduru padu, Khammam needs about $3000 to complete. The church in Sis Esther in  Nagarjun Sagar , Nalagonda, needs prayer and financial support. A sum of $60 a month for one year will be of great help. The tuition centre in Rasoolpura is doing very well and we need $200 a month to run this program. Pst Modi’s church in  Badrachalam, needs to be rebuilt.  A sponsorship of $5000 will be of great help. Conclusion Although it was very hectic with so many risks and challenges, the Lord was gracious and merciful. We are blessed to see the growth of the ministry in Telangana State. Thousands

Children's program

Image
Today we had a children’s program in Rasoolpura slum. About 100 children came for the program. The kids were lively and most of them attend the tuition centre that is run in that slum for these needy kids. Three teachers from the Rasoolpura church conduct tuition daily, except Sundays, for these kids. Some of whom come from Hindu and Muslim homes. This is a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus to these young children. There was lively singing ( without instruments) and they even put up a few song/dance items for us.  Jeya taught them an English action    song. They loved it. She also shared the story of Blind Bartimaeus. After the program, dinner was served for the kids and we thank Sis Vimala for sponsoring the dinner.

A tiring but fruitful day

Today we visited the first PEC church that was dedicated in  Nakrekal, Telangana in Feb 2006 . It was about 3 hrs drive from Hyderabad and thank God, the roads were good.  What a joy to be back here again! The place has developed too. I remember in 2006, there were chickens all over the place and even in the church during service. But God s good and the Lord has blessed the work.  As a result 12 other churches have been established. Rev Albert Pang shred the Word in this place. Much gratitude to Bishop Nehemiah and Pst Hannock for their tireless work in the field. To God be the glory.  From there we visited another PEC church in Nagarjun Sagar, Nalagonda. Again it was a long drive to this place but the sights were quite scenic, especially near the Nagarjun Sagar dam, across the Krishna River. The church is being run by Sis Esther. Her husband, Pst Stephen, passed away last  year due to Covid. Pst Stephen was a good man and he will always be there whenever we visited Telangana. About 20

Day filled with emotions

Image
We were supposed to have two church dedications today but we only did one.    This church was about 2 hrs drive from our hotel in  Khammam  and in the district of Nalagonda. The young single church planter of this church, Pst Jacob, died while the building was under construction. He has a severe case of jaundice and other complications but because he was so focused on finishing the construction, he neglected his own health. We had a memorial service instead and all the members were weeping sadly. Most of the members were brought to the Lord by this young hardworking church planter. It was a very heart-breaking moment for all of us. Sis Josephine shared the Word and encouraged the people with her own life’s experience. The church is now currently let by Pst Jacob’s brother and father. We prayed for his parents and left the place with a heavy heart, trusting God's will for our lives. The dedication will be held soon in the coming days.

Visiting PEC churches in Telangana

Image
Yesterday we visited two churches in remote  villages  in Badrachalam. It was long travel but the roads were good for most part of the journey. It was good to see how the work of church planting is multiplying through the word of the church planters.  After the second service which ended about 9PM, we travelled through forest tracks, wild life sanctuaries, in the dark. There was almost no sign of life on most part of this route. This was mostly  Naxalite controlled ( guerrilla insurgency group)  areas and we thank God that we travelled without any problems.  After 2 hrs we arrived at our hotel at Kohagudam at about 11 pm. Hotel rooms were derisory but we thank God that we can take a shower and rest for the night. Dinner was biscuits and fruits as all the shops in this small town were closed.                   Today we had two church dedications. This was PEC's 179th and 180th buildings in the mission field. What a joy to dedicate churches after more than 2 and 1/2 years. Most impor

Sunday service at Rasoolpura

Image
Today we attended the worship service at Rasoolpura Church. About 200 people were present and the worship was vibrant. Finally being in a church meeting were there was no need to wear a mask and hear the praises to our Lord loud and clear. Happy to see familiar faces and man who were kids when we first came in the early 2000 ar now mothers with children. How time flies…Bishop Anjan and Bishop Thomas Jaya, together with his family were also present in the meeting.

Pastor's Seminar and CP graduation

Image
We had a one day seminar in Rasoolpura for  about 70 CPs . The weather was pleasant and cooling. It was good to meet the CPs again and it was a great reunion. Also present was Bishop Anjan from Odisha, who travelled more than 15 hours just to come to meet us.    Following the seminar we conducted the graduation ceremony  for 21 church planters. All of them had gone through 6 months of church planters course and after the graduation they will go out to plant new churches in remote places. We thank God for all the faculty who were involved in training these church planters. We also consecrated two new Bishops under the PEC Ministries, India. Pst Thomas Jaya, PEC coordinator for Tamil Nadu and Pst Prabu Lal, PEC coordinator  for Chhattisgarh. Both men have proven their profession and have trained and oversee more than 30 church planters in the field. It was a delight to witness the elevation of these men in the ministry. Bishop Thomas Jaya’s family was also present to witness this momento

PEC Mission trip to Telangana : 12-24 Aug

Image
Praise and glory to God for giving us the opportunity to visit the mission field after more than two and a half years. Rev Albert Pang and his wife Josephine joined us in this trip. This elderly couple have played a big part in PEC Missions and in spite of being senior citizens, their passion propels them into the work of ministry. We are indeed blessed by their partnership. We departed Singapore on schedule and arrived Hyderabad about 10 pm local time. Thank God we did not have any problems with customs and immigrations. It was so good to see Bishop Nehemiah  after such a long time. Always with the bouquet of flowers on arrival.

Church Planters Training in Agra

Image
It has been a hectic week since I came back. On 3 Aug, I commenced teaching the Great Commission module to the new leadership cohort in Agra. The training was started by HighPoint Life in Klang and this is the 6th batch in training. Praise God that about 36 churches have been planted since the program began.  There are 24 students in this batch and a very lively group. Glad to see their interest and participation in the teaching.  On Friday I was sick with all the symptoms of Covid. However I was tested negative. Now I am on 5 days MC. Thank God my ART has been negative all these while and for the much needed rest. But still continuing with the CP training. Today I am feeling much better with the symptoms getting lesser. Thanks to all for prayed for me.  Another hectic week or weeks await but I know God's presence will be with me. To God be the glory.

Churches are growing

Image
This week a number of baptisms were reported in the various states our missions are established. I praise God that even in times like this we are seeing people coming into the kingdom of God. But this is only a drop in the ocean. There is so much that's needs to be done and more resources needed. "God will supply all our needs" Prayer is needed for: Church planters in Myanmar as they are still under the torment of the junta. The nation needs restoration of peace and normalcy. Heaving flooding in NE India has brought destruction and chaos. Pray that our church planters and their churches will recover for this natural disaster and their needs will be met. God will meet the many needs that is in the mission field.
