Trip to Klang, Malaysia

Image
Jeya and I were in Klang, Malaysia over the weekend at the invitation of Bro Stephen Chandra Mohan, an alumni from HI. It was a five hour bus ride from Spore. It was wonderful meeting Stephen, his wife Flora and their two children. A wonderful family involved actively in church and who showed generous hospitality to us. We were able to reminiscent the times in Maui and I was encouraged to hear how God is using our brother to fulfill the Great Commission. He has such a contagious passion and heart for God. On Sunday morning I had the privilege of speaking at Bethany Church in Klang. More than a hundred attended the morning service. I spoke on the topic "Why Go". The key points: It's the mandate given by our Lord We don't have much time Man is lost without Christ Its my personal obligation. Many were blessed. I was blessed and encouraged as well. All Glory to God

Church Planting efforts in Sikkim bearing fruits

Image
Praise be to God. Our church planter Joseph Tapa started a work in Rangpoo, Sikkim and the Lord has blessed the work. About 20 people are gathering for worship in his house. Pst Samuel Sharma visited them about two weeks back but because of rains the baptism program was cancelled. He will be there again end of the month. Currently we have 30 church planters working in the North Eastern States of India, thanks to the support from a Chinese brother from Singapore who believes in our vision to reach the lost for Jesus. We thank God for such committed people who have a heart for missions. We are praying many more house churches will be established by our church planters. ALL GLORY TO GOD

Jeevan Jyothi - Back to School Program

Image
This is the new work that we started for the under-privileged children in the slums at Mudford, Secunderabad. About fifty children are being bless through this program. As the kids are going back to school, we provided stationary for them. In addition to giving them tuition, they are also introduced to the love of Jesus. Most of the people who live in this slum work as rag pickers and just make enough to get by the day. The parents are indeed glad that some one is taking an interest in the education of these kids.. We thank God for our sponsor, a Chinese brother from Singapore, who has invested into the lives of these young ones. JEEVEN - LIFE JYOTHI - LIGHT THE LIGHT OF LIFE - JESUS

Trip to Orissa

Image
By God's grace I completed this trip to Orissa last week. It was a wonderful experience. Although I was down with food poisoning, a severe one, I recovered when I returned home this morning. Pst Nehemiah, Pst John Signey and Pst Gopi joined me on this trip. Our coordinator Pst Anjan received us at the airport and planned our itinerary. We visited the two districts where our church planters are working, Rayagada and Kandamal. These are the districts where persecution was the fieriest during the hostilities against Christians a few years back. We have 20 young church planters working in the remote parts of these districts. While life has returned to normal for the Christians, the marks of persecution was still present in the air. Broken down churches, the bad memories of the persecuted believers and the fear that the persecution may erupt again is still visibly present. I heard heart breaking stories of how Christians were persecuted and killed because of their faith in Jesus Christ

Life's challenges - When it hits you real hard and bad

Life is full of distressful challenges. "Distressful" may be a mild description and used only when no choice of a better word. We face many difficult situations, painful moments and disappointments but sometimes there comes a time when one such incident hits us, which is the breaking point. You feel betrayed, rejected and empty. Its time like this when the self is brought to ground zero and the existence of God questioned. It is in times like this we can fully appreciate why David cried in Psalms 42:3 - "My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me continually, "Where is your God?" Jesus had his own breaking point when His creation mocked him, " "He saved others," they scoffed, "but he can't save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him!" Mat27:42 . No wonder He cried , “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Mat 27:46 . His break
