This Sunday morning we considered Jesus entry into Jerusalem. The passage of scripture was taken from Matthew 21;1-11. Pst Alvin was the speaker. It was a good message. He risked the following points:

1.   Colt -  There was the donkey and a colt (a young of a donkey). No one has set upon the colt before. Probably the colt must have been fearful when it was called by the Master. But there was the senior donkey who could have cajoled the young to obey the command of the Master. It talks about mentoring those who are weaker in faith or who need help to grow spiritually.

2.   People -  This group of people were shouting Hosanna and praises to God. But they were the same ones who cried "Crucify Him" a few dates later. Probably they realized that Jesus is not the one who will deliver them from the Roman authority.

Lesson: Do we follow Jesus only when things work out our own way. Will we follow Him when trials, challenges and persecution sets in.

3.   Followers - The disciples. The obeyed the Lord when He asked them to go and find the donkey. It may have sounded weird and they may have been apprehensive in doing strange request. But still they obeyed.

Lesson: Obedience to Christ is better than sacrifice. I am reminded of the words of Mary to the servant at the wedding at Canna,"Whatever He tells  you, do it".
