Trip to NE India

The Singapore team departed on 6 Apr and arrived in Kolkata about 10:30PM. Pst Dinesh arrived a bit later in the night.

On 7 Apr we departed Kolkata for Bagdogra. Bishop Samuel Sharma was there to receive us at the airport.

After a quick lunch in Siiguri, we departed for Rampoo, Sikkim. It took us about 3 hrs to reach Rampoo. Sikkim is a mountainous country. From the main road we had to descend down the hill to reach the church in Rampoo. It was steep and slippery and it was getting dark. We were quite surprised how the locals climb and descend the hills so easily.  For some of us in the team it was a struggle. Thank God, after 20 minutes, we all arrived at the church safely.

We had a wonderful service in the church. Pst Rubin and his wife have ben doing a great work in this place. The worship was vibrant and lively. Bro George shared the Word and we prayed for those with needs after the service.

The came the challenging episode of climbing up the hill back to the main road. It was dark and with the help of torches and cell phones we managed to reach the road in one piece.

After dinner at a nice resort in Rampoo, we travelled up the mountains Rebongla, West Sikkim. It was dark and a bumpy ride and at some point dangerous.  We reached Rebongla almost midnight, after 2 hrs of exhilarating travel.
