Finally home and debrief
We departed Jaigaon for
Singapore on 14 Apr. It took us four hours to reach Siliguri and after a couple of
flights and transits, we arrived home on 15 Apr morning.
Observations
and needs
It is a joy to see the growth of
the churches in NE India. What is now needed to push for more church planting
efforts. The current batch of trainees and young and passionate. We need to
instill in them, the need for church planting and to see the importance of
fulfilling the great commission.
There are many children in PEC
Pathordubi, Bodoland. We need to start a tuition program in this village. We
have seen the success of such program and I believe it will draw many parents
to Christ. This program will cost $100 a month.
The PEC School of Ministry
training center in Jaigaon needs a dining hall urgently. Currently the students
are eating their food out in the open. It costs Sing $3000 to build a dining hall. $2000 has already been pledged. With
24 students, there is a need to increase the monthly support to run the program
from Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 a month.
From next batch onwards the students will be required to pay a monthly fess to
study in the school.
We need a church building in a
village in Nepal. Pst Danish who has been working there for the last four years
said that his congregation is growing and they need a place of worship. You
will have to track the mountains for about 2 to 3 hrs by foot to reach this
village. It will cost Sing $7000 to build
a church there.
There is also a need to support
more church planters. Many graduates from the PEC School of ministry are
working in difficult areas without any support. It cost $50 a month to support
one church planter. We are looking for sponsors to support at least another 10
church planters for a period of 3 years.
It was sheer joy to see the
progress of the PEC Ministry in NE India. We praise God for dedicated men like
Bishop Samuel Sharma and his team for their passion and commitment to the Great
Commission. But the harvest is indeed
plentiful and the needs many. There
are so many newly identified needs and we are praying for new sponsors who are
willing to partner PEC in going out to the nations to fulfill the Great
Commission.
