A challenging but exciting week

What a fast paced week, this has been. First one of our challengers, Sis Vadivu, was admitted  to hospital due to chest pain. The whole church rallied again in prayer and visitation. It was heartwarming to see the challengers coming together to pray in the church. Praise God she was discharged in two days.

The it was so heartwarming to see the Sembawang cell group doing a house visitation in one of the less fortunate homes. And there was so much excitement in wanting to provide for the needs of this home. They held the cell there. PECeans are at last coming out of their comfort zones and reaching out to the community.

I also overhear that the youths were also trying to rise funds to provide for the needy in the community.

Isn't this what the church is supposed to do? I pray that they will not stop here.

The excitement culminated with the late text from Jacqy on Thursday night that her waterbed has burst and had to be rushed to the hospital. She was due next week. Again the pec chat group was alive with a flurry of messages and prayers. And Janice was like operating an "Ops Room" keeping us updated and giving regular updates. Around 2:00PM, Bro Rubern and I were having a discussion in the office and suddenly text arrives, "She is giving birth now. Pray hard." I told Bro Rubern, we have been instructed to pray. We dropped everything and started praying. Thank God Jacqy gave birth to a healthy normal child.

It was a joy for Jeya and me to hold the baby and bless their beautiful princess.

It was also a joy to see the mission team that is going to Myanmar on 21 Apr coming together for prayer and practises and also rising funds for the trip. There is so much excitement and unity. But as usual, the devil sends his arrows to discourage, cause tension and sickness for the team members and their families.  Again it was a joy to witness the team rallying in prayer and encouragement.

Paul said, "for we are not ignorant of his devices" but we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus.

If we go on like this, we will start the second service in the morning, in no time. To God be the glory.
