PRAISE EVANGELICAL CHURCH, Singapore….The mission minded church!

2010 Annual Report

Praise Evangelical Church (PEC), believes wholeheartedly in the Great Commission. Jesus said in Mathew 28: 19-20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Not only does PEC believe in the Great Commission, we are convinced that it is our responsibility to fulfil it, realising that time is short. This is why in the last few years and especially the last four years, we have worked diligently to achieve our vision and mission.

Our vision:

  • That all 26,000 villages in Andhra Pradesh, India will hear the Gospel.
  • To form partnerships with local church leaders to plant churches in Andhra Pradesh and regions beyond.
  • To equip Leaders/Church Planters in attaining the full measure of the fullness of Christ by conducting Leadership and Evangelism seminars. Eph 4:12
Our mission:
  • To advance the kingdom of God in Asia, beginning with Andhra Pradesh and extending outwards to other states and countries in the region.

With God’s help and the prayer and financial support of the saints, our achievements over the last four years were as follows:

  • Rural Area Evangelism Teams - We have 20 teams in place taking the gospel to every village in Andhra Pradesh. More than 3000 villages have been reached with 48,000 people responding to the salvation message. Over 280 new cells/churches have been started.
  • Church Planters - We now have training centres in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and on the Bhutan border. More than 160 leaders have been trained so far. Currently we are supporting 92 church planters and several pastors who have planted over 200 churches/cells in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Sikkim, Assam, West Bengal and Bhutan
  • Children’s’ Outreach and Humanitarian Aid - We support a children’s ministry that reaches the slum children in Hyderabad. Currently about 120 children are enrolled. We give them food, education and share the love of God with them. In addition, we conducted two humanitarian missions to help the victims of the recent floods in Pakistan. More than 300 families were touched by this outreach. More importantly they were able to see the love of God through the generous giving of saints in Singapore
  • Other Works – Supporting Jeevan Frontiers with tis efforts in Bangladesh. Through our leadership and evangelism seminars more than 700 Christian leaders have been challenged with the Biblical Mandate of evangelism in India and Bhutan.
We praise God for all these fruits of our labour. We were only able to achieve this by the generous giving of saints who believed in our vision and mission. But the task is by no means completed. There are more than 80 million people in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal respectively and only 2% are Christian. The other states have a similar figure in terms of the number of Christians. There are millions who have never heard the name of Jesus; not even once. We can’t go there as missionaries, however there are national Christians who are willing to do the work of the evangelist but are hampered by lack of training and funds. They can’t even manage to raise $45 a month to sustain their own family due to the living conditions in the villages and in the interior. That’s why your financial contribution is so crucial in this endeavour.
