Christmas meetings in Berastagi, Medan

I was in Berastagi, Medan from 17-19 Dec. I was invited by Bishop Ezra to speak at their Christmas program. This time I took Air Asia and routed via KL as the airfares ha skyrocketed due to the festive season.

I took the local transport to Berastagi from Medan, even though Bishop Ezra and his wife Janice insisted that they will book a cab for me. They are such wonderful couple and excellent hosts. I often dreaded going to their home as I always put on 2 kg when I get back😂😂

I arrived at Mt Zion about 3 pm and Bishop asked if I could share the Word at the prayer meeting that evening. The prayer meeting was at 5pm

Oh how I missed the prayer meetings. About 60 people gathered for the prayer and the meeting was just like how we used to have in the 80’s. Bishop said that usually about 100 people attend the prayer every week. That’s impressive. There was liberty in the Spirit and the Lord moved very powerfully.


I shared on how God answered the prayer of Zachariah and Elizabeth. After the prayer meeting a muslim lady and her young daughter came for prayer. She was just weeping way. I am sure she is not far from the kingdom of God. 


There are many broken homes in Berastsgi that need the Lord’s intervention.

On 18 Dec, the Christmas program was held in Kabangjahe, about 30 minutes drive from Berastagi. The original plan was to have the celebration done in Sebolga but due to the rain and floods, the infrastructure of the city has been badly affected. Bishop and his team decided to have it in Kabangjahe instead. God has His reasons. 


That evening about 300 people gathered for the service. It was held in a government facility. Thank God for the favor upon His people. Some government officials also attended the celebration. The Minister for Religious Affairs drove all the way from Medan to attend this program. All the leaders were tensed. I was praying that I dont say the wrong thing.😩

The program was well planned and again I felt His presence during the service. It was just like a “Pentecostal” meeting”

I spoke on Galatians 4:4-7 on the theme - God kept His promise”. I shared on 4 truths about Christmas as seen in this passage:

God’s Plan - At the right time
God’ Provision- He sent His son
God’s Purchase - He redeemed us
God’s Placement - Made us His 

Many people responded to the message when the altar call was given, including the Minister for Religious Affairs. Everyone was stunned. Later he said that this is the first time he had come forward for prayer.

God moves in ways beyond our expectations and comprehension. It was just a blessed time ministering to the people. Many were tears, including the Minister. To God be the glory.

That night, Bishop, Pst Janice and I had a wonderful long conversation that went past midnight. We were amazed at His workings. How true the verse in Eph 3:20 - “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,”

Specially grateful to Bishop Ezra and his wife for their love, passion and commitment to the Kingdom of God. Their lives are a great testimony of the goodness of God. Serving God with humility and sincerity.

As I pen this journal at the waiting area of Kualanamo Airport, Medan. my heart is filled with gratitude to the Lord for His amazing grace. 

God willing we will be back in Jan 2026 for our 1st Missions Conference. Another milestone in history as the journey continues ….

Afternote: My flight was delayed. By the time I reached Singapore, it was 0030 hrs on 20 Dec.
