Christmas celebration at Shadrach Home, Myanmar

On 27 December, the children at Shadrach Children’s Home, Myanmar, celebrated Christmas together with the neighbours. In the midst of ongoing conflict and uncertainty in the country, the children were able to celebrate Christmas with joy, hope, and thanksgiving.

The children of Shadrach Home joyfully celebrated Christmas, and their happiness was evident throughout the day. Despite the difficult circumstances surrounding them, the celebration brought laughter, peace, and a sense of normalcy.

Highlights of the celebration included:

  • A joyful Christmas program with songs and fellowship

  • Participation from many villagers, strengthening relationships with the local community

  • The Gospel message shared by Sister Khaw Shin, bringing encouragement and hope to both the children and villagers

This celebration became a meaningful witness of God’s love to the wider community.

We would like to express our special and heartfelt thanks to the sponsors who specifically sponsored this Christmas celebration. Your generosity made it possible for the children to enjoy a festive meal, gifts, and a joyful Christmas atmosphere.

For many of these children, this celebration was a rare and precious experience. Your support brought smiles to their faces and reminded them that they are loved, remembered, and valued. We truly thank God for each one of you.

Shadrach Children’s Home provides a Christian and caring environment for underprivileged children, most of whom are:

  • Orphans

  • Children from very poor families

  • Children of single mothers who are unable to raise them due to extreme hardship

Currently, 39 children are being cared for at the Home. Along with shelter, food, and education, the children receive spiritual nurturing and emotional support, helping them grow with hope and dignity.

Myanmar continues to face severe challenges due to the ongoing civil war. The Home operates under difficult and dangerous conditions, including:

  • Soaring cost of living, making daily provision increasingly difficult

  • Constant security risks, with the threat of soldiers raiding the Home

  • Frequent fear of gunfire and violence in surrounding areas

These conditions make ministry both costly and risky.

Despite these dangers, our workers remain faithful and committed. They are doing their utmost to:

  • Provide a safe and stable environment for the children

  • Continue education and daily care

  • Offer prayer, pastoral care, and emotional support

Their sacrificial service is a testimony of God’s grace at work.

By God’s mercy, the long-term impact of Shadrach Home is evident:

  • Some former children have graduated

  • Some have joined the pastoral ministry team

  • Others are now serving in good jobs, building stable lives and giving back to society

These testimonies encourage us to continue this vital work.

We sincerely thank God for all our sponsors and partners. However, due to rising costs and instability, our current support is not sufficient to meet all monthly needs.

Your continued and increased support is urgently needed to:

  • Provide food and basic necessities

  • Maintain safety and shelter

  • Support caregivers, teachers, and ministry workers

We are deeply thankful to all our sponsors—especially those who made this Christmas celebration possible. Your generosity has brought light into a dark and fearful situation.

At this critical time, your prayers and support are more important than ever. Together, we can continue to provide these children with safety, hope, and a future rooted in faith.
