 On my way home after spending a wonderful, uplifting and a rejuvinating weekend in Berastagi. I had the opportunity to talk to the staff of Kiros Cornerstone church on Saturday morning. About 15 of them were present. We had good discussion on the scriptures and some church management principles.

Saturday afternoon, I visited the school building that is under construction. Glad to see it taking shape. Glad to have played a small part in this building. 

Saturday evening, I attended the youth meeting. About 50 youths gathered for this lively service. I spoke on Proverbs 3:3-6 on the advise Solomon gave to his son. Many youths came forward for prayer.

Sunday morning I had the privilege to speak in the two morning services. The Spirit of the Lord moved and touched many people in their services. Glad to see the number increasing and how well organised they were. 

After lunch, we left Berastagi for Medan. Bishop Ezra had to attend his nice's engagement and since I had an early morning flight, it was best to ben in Medan. 

Met many of Bishop Ezra's relatives at the engagement. Also had the opportunity to meet Pst Robert, a senior  pastor in Medan. I mer him few years ago when I did the Leadership training for pastors in Medan. Good man with great humility. 

I also met a young lady pastor Anjana who is a pastor in a Methodist church in Medan. She is a gem with great testimony of how God has been her strength and support. Full of passion and love for the Indian people in Medan. In spite of her young age, God is using her to reach many Indian people in Medan. Very rare to see a young Indian lady as a pastor of a reasonably sized congregation. 

Grateful to Bishop Ezra and Pst Janice. Wonderful servants of God with humility, love and passion for God's people. As I look back in their lives, I can only conclude that God is faithful to His servants. He honours those who honour Him and He never shortchanges anyone who has given their lives to Him. Bishop Ezra and his wife are are testimony to this. They had very humble beginnings but today God has blessed them immensely, beyond human imagination. It's really a blessing to be refreshed by Godly saints who value you for who you are.

God is good. Thanking Him for His favour and mercy on my life.

What a trip to Nepal

I am sitting at the airport restaurant in Kathmandu, checked in and waiting for my departure to New Delhi and from there, onward to Singapore.  Just sipping and enjoying the Americano coffee and a slice of cheese cake as I reminiscent my last nine days in Nepal. It has been a incredibly tough trip but one filled with joy, great satisfaction and challenges. Tough because of the bad roads, tracks and mountain trekking that really tested my endurance and my back was sore.  Couple of knocks on the head as the vehicle danced to the tune of the undulating terrain. Days when I had terrible diarrhoea, running from one mountain toilet to another. Thank God I had Dr Mike Ong on this trip who is a medical doctor from Singapore, who attended to my condition. Times when we had to sleep on the cold floor with thin sheets of cloth, with rodents in the vicinity. Temperatures dropped to a low of 10-12 degrees centigrde in the nights. Devotion - Psalms 44: 6-7 - Its God who gives the victory

Psalms 44:6-7 - I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame. Any soldier will know that the basic weapon of warfare, in those days, were the bow and sword. Without which no soldier will not venture into the battle field. Even the famed Goliath was geared in full battle order when he faced David with the stones and the sling. Isn't it a paradox then that David, one of the finest soldiers Israel had ever produced, proclaims that its not the bow and the sword that gives the victory. Its is the Lord, Jehovah, that gives the victory. I don't think David is trying to say that we should not prepare ourselves for warfare. His concern is that we recognize that ultimately its the Lord that gives the victory.
