Weekend in Melawati, Kuala Lumpur.
This weekend we were at Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church. I was invite by the Missions Coordinator, through Pst David Low to speak on Missions. Pst David was the former pastor of this church and he has been associated with the Haggai Ministry in Malaysia. His church is actively involved in missions but they wanted to see our perspective.
This time we decided to go there by bus. The ride was long due to traffic jams but it was very comfortable in this bus. Very much travelling on business class in a plane😼. We left Harbour front 8:00AM and arrived at our destination at 2:30PM. Pastor David Low was there to pick us up. Both he and his wife showed exceptional hospitality in taking care of us. They served with much humility and love. It's a privilege to be associated with such wonderful saints of God.
Friday evening, I shared on the Call to Missions. My text was taken from the Book of Jonah.
On Saturday morning we left early to hike Bukit Pao. It was about a 1000 ft above sea level. A relatively light-moderate challenging hike for us. An elderly couple, Bro Hong and his wife took us on this hike. They are in their 70's but very fit for they age. In fact they hiked with ease, even through the steep slippery slopes. It was an hour hike to the top but we made it in time to catch the sun rise.
The view was simply captivating, even though it was a little hazy. Heaven's declare the glory of God...
On Saturday evening I spoke on the Commitment to Missions, my text taken from 2 Cor 5:18-20. The crowd was smaller compared to Friday but still impactful.
Sunday morning service was a full house with more than 150 in attendance. I spoke on the Cost for Missions, my passage taken from Luke 5:1-11. Many people were blessed over the there days and we thank God for the opportunity. After the service we had lunch with some young people who were very eager to learn more about missions and how they can serve, even with working in the market place. These young people are well educated and in good jobs but we could see the passion and desire for the Kingdom of God in them. The conversation around the table was simply kingdom focused. I wish we will see the same passion in our PEC churches.
Sunday evening we attended the graduation ceremony of the Asia Pacific Seminary. Glad to see some familiar faces.
We were treated to some of the best durians in Malaysia on Sunday night. Looks like we need to come here more often.🤣🤣🤣
We returned home today. Left KL at 8:00AM and reached Singapore in the afternoon. We praise God the opportunity to serve Him in other churches. These are last days and the more we need to engage this world in missions. Let's all do out part for the kingdom.
To God be the glory
