Praying for our Nation - An awesome presence the Lord

Yesterday in our church, we had an extended time of prayer. About 30 members came  to pray for Singapore as we celebrate our 51th National Day. But this prayer meeting was something special for me.

As I looked back, it was about year ago, the church board took over the leadership under very trying circumstances. But we have moved forward and grown through this time of testing.

But it was an overwhelming presence yesterday.

First the presence of the Lord was simply awesome as we intercede for the nation. Everyone was engaged and the church workers really "filled in the shoes" as they led in worship and in the prayer points.

Second, it was heartening to see the elders filling in their role as the "elders of the church" teaching and breaking the Word of life. I was thinking, wasn't  this the way the early church was moving?  Everything was fitting like a jig-saw puzzle.

Third, the Marthas' were there to fill in the break slots wth the necessary refreshments. It was a body working in unison. I was thrilled.

Finally I witnessed the next generation coming along side in worship leading and interpreting.  They have come along way.  And they did just great, just need some fine-tuning. Hey we had too.

I told some of them, that I today I am satisfied and am ready to retire. We see our own sons and daughters rising. And this was what was told to me prophetically. God has indeed not let us nor forsaken us, even when people did and unjust so. We have learnt from our mistakes and we will do well not to repeat them again.

Well, lets see what the nextgen will do this Sunday in church day.

"To God be the Glory for the things He has done"
