Mission Trip to Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, 14-20 Oct 14

Spore team on arrival at Hyderabad

Another milestone and another fruitful trip to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Once again the Hand of the Lord was with us, preparing the way and helping us to fulfill the objectives. We truly praise God for all His wondrous ways.  Amazing Grace indeed. Six of us were on this trip, five from Singapore and one from Chennai, Bro Raja, who joined us from 18-19 Oct.
The objectives of the trip were as follows:

  • Conduct 3 days residential training classes for 40 potential church planters
  • Visit some church planters work in the villages
  • One church dedication
  • Sunday morning service at Rasoolpura
  • Visit Mudfort slum
3 Days Church Planters Seminar

About 40 church planters from the four training centres in AP/Telangana came for this training which was conducted over three days. The following subjects were taught:
  • Spiritual Leadership -  Bro Rama
  • Spiritual Gifts -  Bro James
  • Spiritual Armour -  Sis Josephine
  • Spiritual Fruit -  Bro Albert
  • Spiritual Authority – Bro Swee Kee
It was a hectic seminar, from 9.00AM to 7 PM. Prior to this the students have another session of devotion in the morning. We conducted two sessions in the morning and two in the afternoon. In between there were “power cuts” and the room was hot and stuffy. The weather was not too kind either. Nevertheless the students were very eager to learn. Most of them were in the 35-35 age group. They were attentive most of the time and had questions. Many of them showed great potential to be future church planters and leaders.  We were also motivated and challenged to see their faith and enthusiasm.

Church Planters Visit.

We visited two places in Guntur District were our church planters were working. It was a joy to see how the Lord is blessing the work, in difficult areas.

Church Dedication

Later that evening we went to dedicate a church in Durga Nagar in Nalagonda District. Pst Peters has pioneered a work in that village. There was much opposition a few days ago by the Hindus and the threatened to disrupt the church dedication. But by God's grace every thing went on smoothly.

By the time we returned to Bro Mohan's House, it was past 1.00AM. Bro Mohan and his family have been excellent host and we thank God for them and their willingness to serve God's people.

On Sunday we attended service in Rasoolpura and also visited the Mudfort slum.

Needs

  • One church planter by the name of Pst Sam working in Mallavaram Village in East Godawari, has already a congregation of 200 people and is desperate in need of a church building. The cost for building the church is about $7000.
  • Another church planter, Pst Anand, in Miryula Guda in Nalagonda District also needs a church building. The cost for building the church is about $7000.
  • We need at least two PA systems for gospel meetings in the villages. Each set cost about $1000. This includes, amplifier, speakers and supporting equipments.
 Conclusion

We are indeed grateful to God for all His protection and blessings. We are extremely humbled by Bro Mohan’s family for their love and incomparable hospitality. We are also grateful to all who came on this trip. We thank God for our sponsors and PEC who has stood by us in the endeavor. All Glory to God.
