Mission Trip to AP 4-10 Sep 12

It was another God given privilege to head to AP, India. This time my mom came along. Although 72 years of age, she still managed to travel and complete the journey without much difficulty. Altogether four of us were on this trip. My mom, Alvin, Christina and myself. Pst John Daniel left earlier and joined us at Hyderabad. A small group of family and friends were at the airport to send us off.

On 5th and 6th Sep, we had two days "Pastors/Church Planters" Seminar at Hyderabad. About 85 participants attended the seminar. Pst John Daniel, Pst John Signey, Bro Patrick Anthony (HI Alumni from the last Jun 12 batch in Chiang Mai) and myself were the resources person. Pst John Daniel started the seminar with a time of prayer and there was such an anointing in the place. The prayer lasted for almost three hours. The subjects facilitated were: Leadership - Pst J Daniel, Gifts of the Holy Spirit - Pst John Signey, Discipline - Bro Patrick Anthony and I did the concluding session of the subject, "The man God listens"

On 4th Sep afternoon, our team visited the Mudfort Slum. Christina shared a Bible Story and the kids sang Sunday School Songs in Telugu. It was delightful to see how the kids have progressed. The visitors were appalled by the living conditions in the slums and vowed "to do something" after getting back to Spore.

My mom prayed for all the kids and blessed them. On 6th Sep night we took and train and headed fro Khammam.

On 7th Sep, we drove about 2 hrs to a village called Thadikallapudi. Here we dedicated a church in memory of my late. Bro Kumar. It was heartening to hear the testimonies of my brother's labor in AP, when he was working for CBN India. His ministry to the poor had indeed touched many lives and we were simply overwhelmed. He was indeed "The friend of the Poor". We also baptized eight people in that village, including a lady from the Banjara tribe. It was really a joy to see the tribes coming to know Jesus as Lord. During the service the Lord healed a young man who had a stammering tongue. Praise God after prayer, he was healed and spoke well. Glory to God.

That evening we visited a village, near Khammam, where one of our church planters, Pst Vijayakumar had pioneered a new work. About fifty people had gathered in the veranda of a home. It was really uplifting to see our church planters producing fruits. We preached and prayed for the people.

On 8 Sep, we visited the first church built by PEC in Nakreekal, Nalagonda. Pst Hannok is the pastor of this church and it was filled to overflowing. We praise God for what He is doing through the PEC Ministries in AP.

We concluded the trip by attending the morning service in the Rasoolpura slum. As always it was indeed a delight to attend the service there. We ministered to the people and later that evening departed for Home.

My mom was strong through out the journey and she was overwhelmed by what she saw in the mission field. In one of the services she said that she felt honored that her sons were called to service in missions. All glory to God.
