Update on Shadrach Home, Myanmar

Update on visit to dedicate Shadrach Home in Tanyan, Shan State, Myanmar16-20 May 24

My family and I just arrived back from Shadrach Home after spending two days with the children. The dedication of the Shadrach Home was long overdue due to Covid and the Junta oppression. But with our Mission Pastor Rev Dr Ramachandran’s permission, my family undertook this uncertain journey to the Shadrach Home, trusting God for His protection.

Journey and mission

We drove 4 days for up and down passing so many militias gates where we are forced to give so called tax and charity fund. There are bridges destroyed by bomb-explosion that all cars has to take wooden made bridges. It was very tense along the journey.

We thank God that we could dedicate the building despite of so many challenges many advised us not to go and do dedication in time of like this. But we know it was God’s timing as our sisters and the children in the Shadrach Home very much needed encouragement from God’s people. Hardly anyone has been the for the last 5years.

About  60 neighbour plus were invited to the dedication and they joined us and we could share gospel with some of them and we also provided them lunch.

The children look healthy and happy. Most of them are already grown up and have become taller obviously.

Unfortunately, we missed 7 of the children  who were absent in the special event as they went to their birth place in order to make Citizenship that is required all high school aged students.

And also we could spent with the children one day for outing and a shot adventure to a natural cave where we drove about 30 minutes and walked to the cave for about 10 minutes from car parking lot. It was great and meaningful to get to know with us.

However, we are deeply concerned if war break out in the region like different regions are going through that schools would be forcedly shutdown.

God is faithful and gracious to his children regardless all the bad situation. God is good  all the time.

Conclusion

I want to thank Praise Evangelical Church Singapore for their vision, partnership and leadership in Myanmar Shadrach Home and in the church planting work in Myanmar. All the children in Shadrach Home always remember you and thank you for you love and support. If not for your support and love, they would have been lost. Many of them are orphans or children of very poor single mothers. But today they have hope in Jesus Christ.

All our church planters are also grateful for your passion and leadership in reaching unreached places in Myanmar. In spite of the persecution and harassment, the work of God is still continuing in the difficult regions. Thank you very much and all glory to God.
