They never stopped ....

Acts 4:42 - Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

Acts Chaplet 4 ends with the words..."they never stopped".

The apostles never stopped teaching and preaching the gospel (the good news that Jesus is the Messiah).

Earlier on in the chapter we read how they apostles were beaten and imprisoned  for speaking in public he name of Jesus. They were flogged, threatened and offered not to soap in their Name.

Look at the reactions of the apostles:

  • verse 29 - ...We must obey God rather than human beings!

  • verse 41 - ...rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name,

Nothing could stop them from reaching the lost and making them disciples.

This was the passion and commitment that drove the early apostles, to reach their world for Jesus. with the power of the Holy Spirit, they "filled Jerusalem with your teaching".

Look at what the Holy Spirit enabled them to do:

  • Performed many signs and wonders among the people.

  • Highly regarded by the people.

  • Filled Jerusalem with the gospel

  • More and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their numberCrowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed.

  • A revival was breaking out.

How I wish that God will do the same even today. Men and women filled by the power of the Holy Spirit will boldly proclaim the gospel and stand against every schemes of the devil and that signs and wonders will follow. Not just sporadic events but everywhere on the earth.

May the name of Jesus be gloried in my generation.
