My help comes from the Lord

Everyone needs help, from a pauper to a billionaire. But whether we get help or not, depends entirely on the source you are waiting on. My father used to say, “Don’t ask help to someone who doesn't have capability to do so. People can only give from what they have”. I believe that’s true. The ambit of the help needed can be anything. Only those who have the capacity and ability can sustain the need.

As humans there are a number of things beyond our control. There can be genuine needs and we don't have the resources ourselves. In situations like this, who do we turn to for help.

In this Psalm, David compares to those who run to the mountains for help. The mountains represent strength, security and protection. In time when the enemies are after him, he has run to the hills for security and protection. But his experiences in life have taught him that even the hills are no good for certain difficult situations. He has realized it's the Lord who created the heavens and the earth, the best and only source we can run to. This God has never failed or forsaken anyone who has come to Him for help. His name is Jesus.

And if you are going through some very difficult situation in your life, why not look up to Lord Jesus, call upon Him and He will answer your cry.
