The Challengers begin their first service in 2017

This afternoon about 15 senior citizens from our church gathered for their first meeting in 2017. These are our seniors who gather regular for prayer and fellowship. I joined them this evening and loved the old classical songs they sang. Realized that I am not far from this group.

I shared with them about "earth shattering prayer", looking at the prayer of Paul and Silas in prison in Acts 16. The key verse was in Acts 16:24-25 - Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. 26 Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!

Paul and Silas had a like style of prayer. They prayed:
  • Everyday
  • At midnight
  • in an adverse environment
  • in a bad physical condition
They prayed because it was their lifestyle.

I challenged our seniors to persist in prayer and see amazing things happen in our lives, in our families and in our church.
They had fun too.Later in the evening, after the meeting the went down to Chinatown for a visit. Great way to keep fit. Thanks to Bros Rubern, Viknesh and his friend for brining them out.

Truly a blessing to PEC.
