Mission Trip with a difference

Image
The next mission trip to India is from 31 Aug-11 Sep. We have four church dedications, a combined graduation in Jaigon and some teaching sessions at our training centres. And of course a lot of travel over the mountains and valleys. I was told we will be tracking over 50 mountains this time. We will also be vising our children's program in Assam.  We are indeed privileged to have our partners in the mission field, the team from History Makers - the Forte, join us on this trip. Pst Fernando Mates, his wife Lorna and Pst Carlo and Pst Josh arrived Spore this evening. It was a joy to see them once again at Changi Airport. Servants of God with true passion and no agenda. We are looking forward to a great time. Bro Albert, Sis Josephine and Bro George will be joining us for departure tonight. Jeya and Sis Sarah will be coming tomorrow and  Fernando's daughter Janna, will be also joining us from Saturday. To God be the glory.

HI Penang National Seminar

I had two days of facilitation at the HI National Seminar in Penang. 18 participants were there time time.It was another refreshing experience  in teaching about the Biblical Mandate and my experience in the ministry. I could see God impacting the participants they sat through the sessions. Praying that God will do a permeant work in the lives of these participants. Another man of God goes home to eternity. Bro Tangavelu  went Home to Gloryon 25 Aug 16. He was 86 yrs old. Because of Bro Tangavelu's funeral, I had to reschedule the sessions and took an early flight back to Singapore. Could see God's intervention in all the arrangement. I arrived just in time before the service started in PEC. The church service was conducted by Bro Babu James and the church board. It was so encouraging to see how the board and the members worked hand in hand to organise the whole funeral arrangements. I was really amazed at the way it was done. It was seamless and done...

Bro Tangevelu goes home to be with the Lord

Image
Its a very uneasy feeling as I sit in the airport lounge, waiting for my flight to Penang. Its the HI National Seminar and this has been arranged since early this year.  Bro Tangevelu, aged 86, has been a faithful member of our church. He went to be with the Lord at 9:35pm. His two children were with him at the time of passing. Bro Tangavelu has not been well since a year ago. God miraculously preserved him and gave hm another year. In fact the doctors have all given up hope, one year ago. This man's faith is so strong. One of the pioneers in PEC. Loss to us but heaven gains another victor.  Hopefully I can change the schedule for tomorrow to see if I can return back in time for the funeral.

You are the light of the world

Mathew 5:14-16 - “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.   Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. 2 Cor 4:6 -  For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ. For the Jews, God's glory was always associated with light and power. It was the light of the burning bush that attracted Moses. God's presence was presented as the pillar of fire  in the desert. In Exodus 19, the people trembled when God descended on the mountain and there was lightening, thunder and fire. God's glory was visible in the form of light.  ...

Mission trip to Myanmar -15-20 August 16 (Part 2)

On 18 Aug we travelled almost twelve hours on the road to visit another church planter Pst Saw Shew in Kwin Dong Se in Mandalay Division. We had to drive down to Mandalay before tracking another 3 hrs to the village. Along this road we had two close shaves with oncoming vehicles and it was purely the grace of God that kept us safe. By the time we reach Pst Saw’s home, it was 8 pm. About 15 people still waited for us. Some had already left as it was dark and the place was so remote. In fact our vehicle could not go up the hill and we had the help of the villagers to push us up.  There are about 9 families attending the Sunday service in two villages and they are in need of a place of worship. The work is good and people are responding to the gospel.  That night we drove back to Mandalay and reached the hotel close to midnight. Dead tired but fully satisfied to see the work of God. Then it as back to Yangon, On Friday  it wa...
