Leadership and Evangelism Training in Yangon 28-29 Oct

I was invited to facilitate this training program for pastors and Bible School Students. The last time I visited Yagon was during my airforce days, about twenty years ago. One can sense a visible difference. Many new buildings have come up although the city center was relatively the same.

The training was organized by Sis Evelyn (Singapore) and Pst John Phongshar in Myanmar. Pst John was a participant of the HI Leadership program held in Chiang Mai, Thailand last year. It was divine intervention how Sis Evelyn met Pst John and how this whole seminar came to being.

About 70 pastors and Bible School students came for this program. I took six sessions over two days, teaching on leadership and evangelism. Pst John helped with the translation. Initially the participants were rather reticent but they slowly opened up and we had a good time of learning and sharing.
On the last session we opened up the time for prayer and dedication. The Spirit of the Lord moved in a powerful manner. I felt the awesome presence of the Lord and many lives were touched. Glory to God.

 My observation:
1.   Training on leadership and evangelism is very much needed in Myanmar.
2.  There is an urgent need to start training church planters to plant churches in the remote villages in Myanmar.
3.   Training facilities are there.
4.   There are people keen to be trained as church planters
5.   What is lacking is resource persons to coordinate and strategically plan to reach the unreached.

Well looks like this will not be the last trip to Myanmar. We discussed many plans with Pst John. God willing, we'll see a new wave of God's move in the land. The harvest indeed is great in Myannar. We need to pray that God will sent in people with passion and possession. If you are interested, please let me know.

Praise God for this opportunity.
