Great Commission---Souls----He's coming soon
Mathew 25: 14-28
Some things are glaring from this passage:
If you tried and failed, you may apportion blame;
If you tried very hard and yet failed (unlikely), you may assign blame;
But if you did not try and failed, you have no course but acknowledge blame.
26-27 - “His
master replied, "You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest
where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well
then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that
when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
Some things are glaring from this passage:
1. This servant also had some asset. This servant, like the other two servants, also had some gift, though less than them. Nevertheless he had something in his possession which could have been invested and brought returns for his master. Likewise each of us has some kind of gifting. 1 Peter 4:10 - Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
2. The master demands investment. Verse 19 - "After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them." I am convinced that we will have to give an account of every talent God has given to us. More importantly if we had used every God given opportunity to share the good news.
3. His problem was he never tried. The servant knew what he needs to do. But he didn't. Giving back what was entrusted, was insufficient. If it was not invested, used or multiplied it amounts to being a "lazy" servant.
Everyone, at least most, have the ability to speak and communicate. Has that ability (talent) ever been used to share the good news?
If you tried and failed, you may apportion blame;
If you tried very hard and yet failed (unlikely), you may assign blame;
But if you did not try and failed, you have no course but acknowledge blame.
