Gospel Meeting in a village in Kerala

Image
During the mission trip, we conducted two nights of gospel meetings on 23 and 24 Mar 11 in a distant village in Kerala. It was a very unusual setting. Open -air and surrounded by trees. It was like having a secret meeting in the jungle. More than 300 people attended the meetings. Pst Steven spoke on the first night and I spoke on the second. Our team sang a song and some gave their testimonies. Many accepted Christ and many Christians recommitted their lives to the Lord. Certainly a new experience for our team. Praise God. "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field". Luke 10:2

Report on Mission Trip to Kaniyakumari 22-27 March11

Praise God for giving us the opportunity to go on this trip. 10 members from Praise Evangelical church joined Jeya and myself on this trip. We departed on 22nd Mar evening for Kaniyakumari District. Another four friends from Singapore joined us on 24th Mar 11. Pst John Signey, our coordinator for South India, and his wife were at the airport to receive us. Our AP Coordinator, Bishop Nehemiah was also present on the trip. The trip was strewn with disturbances. First, on arrival, one of the members was deported due to visa problems. However Sis Eve sorted our her visa and returned on 25th Mar. Then there were times when the vehicles were late and delayed our programs. "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ", we were able to overcome these obstacles and achieve our objectives. We conducted 2 days of Leadership and Evangelism Seminar for the church planters. About 3o church planters and 20 others attended the seminar. Pastor Steven, Bro ...

Trip to India 22-27 Mar 11

Its with great excitement and tears of joy that I write this note. By the pure Grace of God, next week I will be leading a team from Singapore to Tamil Nadu for the dedication of the the Shadrach Home. 15 orphans have already been identified and another five more will be taken in soon. These are our future missionaries to Europe. Rev (Dr) K Steven, Professor Dr Lim Lean Huat and his wife Doreen Lim (the lady behind this vision) will be the guests of Honour from Singapore. We will also witness the graduation of 18 church planters from Tamil Nadu and Kerala. You don't know how anxious I am to meet these men who have committed their lives to serve our Master. Each one of them is a potential "Billy Graham" reaching out to millions. Praise God who has given His servants the passion for lost souls. The first batch of ten students are already working in 18 villages in the remote parts of Tamil Nadu. First week of Apr I will be in Jaigon, Bhutan Border to witness th...

Magnitude 9.0 - A Reflection

Japan - A Nation overcome by Nature's wrath It's a week since the catastrophic earthquake and Tsunami hit the shores of Japan bring about such devastation not seen in recent memory. Thousands lost their lives, many still missing and the damage to property seems immeasurable. It was just last month when I was in Narita, en route to Maui. Since I had some time to kill I took the train to Narita town and walked down the lanes. It was s sleepy Sunday afternoon and the weather was chilly. Not many people were on the streets. I marvelled at the cleanliness and serenity that surrounded this first world country. The people, courteous and friendly, something you don't see back home. Beautiful cars, good roads and a lovely country side. Yet it sadden my heart to see how liberal the country has become. Sex shops, a taboo in many Asian cultures, are an accepted norm in this developed country. So much for modernisation. That was sad. But when the earthquake and Tsunami hit the shores...

Ministry Updates

Its good to be back home. God is good. Like all the other participants from Asia, I relished local delights, fish sambal, Nasi Lemak and my favourite Teh- halia. I hope there is Indian food in Heaven. From 22-27 Mar , a larg e group from Singapore will be visiting India to dedicate the Shadrach Home and also witness the graduation of 20 students from our PEC Ecclesia training Centre. These are our church planters to Tamil Nadu and Kerala. 10 students are undergoing training in the PEC Tribal Training Centre in Rajmaondry District. They are expected to complete in June. Currently we are using a pastor's house to run the program. We are looking to purchase a small building to run this school. It will cost about $6000. 23 participants are in session in PEC School of Ministry in Jaigon. They will graduate in 7th April. A team from Singapore will be here for the graduation. The second story of the building is under construction. We need funds to finish the completion. PEC Great Commissi...

San Francisco - Transit

Its almost 7. 00am, local time on 6 Mar. I am at San Francisco Airport, waiting for my connection to Phoenix. Just six hours ago I left HI Centre at Maui. It was a pleasant surprise when many volunteers and the remaining participants gathered at the lobby to give me a grand send-off. I was humbled by their kind words and love and almost at the point of tears. I praise God for Cheryl and Cliff as they oversee this great ministry. Wonderful people with a driving passion to serve our Master. The volunteers are a great example of what Jesus said in John 13:34-35: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Simply lost for words. As I reflect on this trip to Maui, all I can say is , "Thank you Lord for your mercy , grace and favour". Psalms 47: 1 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. 2 How awesome is the LORD Most Hig...

It was indeed the Lord's doing - Haggai Institute

25 days flew past like a whirlwind. Meeting and mentoring 46 men from 21 different countries was indeed a God given opportunity. It was heartening to hear their testimonies of how God had dealt with each one of them and how the training had challenge their views on Leadership and Evangelism. Our prayer is that these men will now go back and impact their nations. It was also a joy to meet the other faculty men of God who are sold out for His purposes. The volunteers were of course one of the key highlights of the Institute. Their service is simply incomprehensible. The staff at HI...Simply outstanding. God bless them for what they are doing. International Praise Night. For those who were there....Remember "Rock Road" and the wonderful Korean brothers? Thanks to all who have prayed for me. God bless. Tonight I continue my journey to Phoenix. Thanks for covering me in prayer.
