Thinking out loud

The New Year broke its silence as soon as it rose over the horizon. Earthquake hits Chile again on 2nd Jan. The first thoughts that raced in my mind was, " Is Jessica alright". Jonathan's sequels, "She's back on facebook," fifteen hrs later, was reassuring. Now she gone into the remote areas of Chile for ministry where communication is hardly possible. No contact for the last few days.

Mission budget swells up to $12,000 a month for PEC. Never heard of, in its history. Immediate renovation work needs to be done at our training centre in Jaigon and funds are still not forthcoming. Where is it all going to come from? "Cut down your expansion until you have the funds," was the advise.

Then there are other things to contend with. Kids' future, friends in deep crisis, friend who is in and out of hospital, church planters demands, unjust accusations and the list goes on. Quiet time becomes Complaint time.

In the midst of these, comes the still small voice, "Be still and know I am God". PS 23:1 became alive again: "The Lord is my shepherd, that's all I need." The thing to note is, its God' s work. You are His child and the responsibility of God. God will see you through.

2 Chron 20: 15-17 - “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.’”

If you had similar worries like me, rest assured, the promise is for you. All we need to do is take up our positions and be firm. Press on.
