Weekend in Melawati, Kuala Lumpur.

Image
This weekend we were at Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church. I was invite by the Missions Coordinator, through Pst David Low to speak on Missions. Pst David was the former pastor of this church and he has been associated with the Haggai Ministry in Malaysia. His church is actively involved in missions but they wanted to see our perspective.  This time we decided to go there by bus. The ride was long due to traffic jams but it was very comfortable in this bus. Very much travelling on business class in a planešŸ˜¼. We left Harbour front 8:00AM and arrived at our destination at 2:30PM. Pastor David Low was there to pick us up. Both he and his wife showed exceptional hospitality in taking care of us. They served with much humility and love. It's a privilege to be associated with such wonderful saints of God. Friday evening, I shared on the Call to Missions. My text was taken from the Book of Jonah.  On Saturday morning we left early to hik...

Youth Retreat in Odisha

Image
My heart was filled with joy to see this picture. Our leaders in Odisha had organised youth retreat for few of our churches. About 150 youths gathered for the retreat. The retreat was held on 23-24 Oct. I am praising God for the work He has done through our mission work. God is preparing the next generation for the task ahead.  Many youths are preparing themselves to serve the Lord. Cant imagine how big the crowd will be if youths from all our PEC churches get together. I am reminded of the verse that says: ... Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless - 1 Corinthians 15:58. Kudos to the team in the field for the great work for the  Kingdom. Jesus is our Captain. We are soldiers of the King. To God be the glory.

On my way home after spending a wonderful, uplifting and a rejuvinating weekend in Berastagi. I had the  opportunity to talk to the staff of Kiros Cornerstone church on Saturday morning. About 15 of them were present. We had good discussion on the scriptures and some church management principles. Saturday afternoon, I visited the school building that is under construction. Glad to see it taking shape. Glad to have played a small part in this building.  Saturday evening, I attended the youth meeting. About 50 youths gathered for this lively service. I spoke on Proverbs 3:3-6 on the advise Solomon gave to his son. Many youths came forward for prayer. Sunday morning I had the privilege to speak in the two morning services. The Spirit of the Lord moved and touched many people in their services. Glad to see the number increasing and how well organised they were.  After lunch, we left Berastagi for Medan. Bishop Ezra had ...

PEC's 201 church building

Image
Today Bishop Anjan and his team dedicated PEC's 201th church building in Chhattisgarh. This is in a rural village and the Pst here is Pst Jitendra. He is one of our faithful church planters. The church is not fully completed but will be done soon. About 70 people attend this church. But because of the threats from the fanatics, many people did not turn up for the dedication. Chhattisgarh is again facing another way of threats and persecution. We believe the Lord will give us victory of all the powers and schemes of the enemy. Much prayer and intercession is needed for the states of Odisha and Chhattisgarh where church planters lives are put on the line. This church is sponsored by Calvary Church, Hong Kong. I am deeply indebted to Pst John Malcolm and his church for their partnership and sponsorship.

Hectic week - Broken vessel

I am penning this entry from the waiting area in KL International Airport Terminal 1. My connecting flight to Medan has been delayed by an hour. On my way to Berastagi to minister at Kairos Community Church where my good friend Bishop Ezra is the senior pastor. It has been an hectic week. We came back from India on 1 Oct and I was not well. This week I have been working night shift and teaching the Great Commission for the new batch in Pakistan. Was working last night and Jonathan drove me straight to the airport this morning after work. My friends think I am crazy. I think so too. "Don't be a super hero", a good friend said.  Jessica was quite blunt with me. I could not disagree with her.  I am reminded of the words of out Lord this morning in John 9:4 (NLT)   “We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.” I am guilty as charged.  šŸ„² May the Lord ...

Flash floods in Sikkim

Image
If you have been following the news, you would have heard of the flash floods that has  caused  severe  devastation in Sikkim. Many homes have been swept away and roads severely damaged. Can't believe we were on the same roads and places just a few days ago during our trip in Sikkim.  Four families in PEC Rangpo have lost their homes and all their belonging in the floods. They are now temporarily housed the church.  Let' help these families. If you are moved to help. please contact me. God bless you.

Another new beginning

CPTC in Pakistan In partnership with Great  Commission  Church, we have launched a new Leadership  Training  program for  Christians. Pst Ashraf, a Haggai alumni, is our coordinator in Pakistan.  Today we had the opening session. The program began with the cutting of the ribbon for the training centre. After worship, I shared PEC's role in the CPTC. This was followed with Bro Leandro from Brazil sharing the Word via zoom. I was glad to have friends from Haggai join the opening session.  This is the first batch and this will be a beginning of many wonderful things in Pakistan.  To God eb the glory for the new opening in Pakistan.
