Mission Trip to India : 10-18 Jan 20
This is our first trip for the year 2020 as we embark on ending gospel poverty. Rev Albert Pang, Jeya and I went on this trip. It was a hectic trip as we wanted to cover as much ground as possible.
The objectives for the trip were as follows:
- 2 church dedications in Telangana State
- Sunday service in Rasoolpura
- Two days couples seminar in Hyderabad
- Baptism and meeting with church planters in Tamil Nadu
- Teaching church planters and visits in Bihar
We had two church dedications on 11 Jan. The first was in a village in Nalagonda District.. It took us more than 5 hrs to reach this remote village. Rev Albert Pang and his wife Josephine Wong sponsored this church. The church was full and it was our joy to dedicate this church for the glory of God. We were blessed to see the hard work done by PEC church planters in remote places, doing all we can to end gospel poverty.
The second church was about two hours away. This church is located in Suryapet District. Jeya sponsored this church. By the time we got to the church it was about 4:00 PM and many have left since they had been waiting for more than 3 hrs. Nevertheless we had a good dedication service and Jeya shared the word.
On 12 Jan we worshipped the Lord in Rasoolpura church. It
was so encouraging to see the church filled and growing in numbers. Rev Albert
Pang shared the word. The church celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary and we
thank God for these “little pleasures” in our journey.
Special cake given by the church in Rasoolpura. |
That evening we had a special dinner at Taj Deccan, specially arranged by the members of Rasoolpura church. We were pleasantly surprised by the chef who gave us a complimentary anniversary cake.
On 13-14 Jan, we conducted a “Couple Seminar” for about 30 church planters and
their wives. Jeya and I took sessions on the first day and Rev Albert took
sessions on the second day. The feedback on the seminar was good.
