In Patna

16-17 Jan were spent teaching the Bible School students. Rev Albert and Jeya took the sessions and I spoke at a public meeting on 17 Jan evening for pastors and leaders.

While Rev Albert was teaching in the training center on 16 Jan, Jeya and I, together with Pst Raji, went on a field trip to visit an outreach work by a third batch student. It was a six hrs drive before we reached our destination. It was a treacherous drive, broken roads and heavy traffic. There was no restaurant in sight along the journey but thanks to Sis Renu ( Pst Raji’s wife) who had packed some snacks for the team. The word “endurance” had a new meaning.

Nevertheless our hearts were revived when we reached our destination. The church planter is Takur, about 25 years old. The village is called Bahar in Mohania District. About 25 people have gathered for the meeting. This is a pioneering work and a new church has been established. I was told that on Sundays about 50 people attend the service. My heart was filled with joy as I set in the meeting and heard the worship. I shared a simple message to encourage the people. After some fellowship we made our long journey to Patna.

Our drive back to Patna was not that painful, after what we had experienced in the village. It was worth the while.

On 18 Jan morning, I visited a slum in Patna. A church has been established and the pastor there is running a school for the kids in the slum. About 150 children attend the school. I also saw how small micro projects can help to raise funds for the ministry. It was an eye opener.

That evening we departed Patna and made our journey back home. We touched down Singapore on Sunday morning at 8:00AM and after a shower were in church, worshipping the Lord with the saints.

Praise God for a safe and wonderful trip.
