Is there an urgency for missions and evangelism?

 I think there is.

Just before Jesus was taken up from this world, he gave this very important commandment to his disciples in Matthew 28:19-20- Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

The gospel message or the good news has been with us for more than 2000 years and yet about half of the world is yet to be challenged with the claims of Jesus Christ.

Even in our own surroundings, many of our family, relatives and friends with whom we interact daily do not know about the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As Christians we know that Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus said in John 14:6– I am the way the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but by me.

Acts 4:12–The Apostle Peter tells us “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

If we, Christians truly believe these statements in the scriptures, then we really cannot keep quiet.

You and I have an obligation to take the gospel to places and to persons who have never heard about the good news of Jesus Christ.

Why is there an urgency today?

Because every sign around us indicate that Jesus is coming back very soon and we really don’t have time. Look at all the prophesies, look at all that Jesus had said will happen before He comes; its already happening.

Therefore, we cannot keep silent, we need to act and act now.
