A new beginning for Malaysia

The recent spade of events in Malaysia has changed the political landscape in the region. Who would have ever imagined that a formidable institution like BN could come crashing down. after so many years in power. But there are a number of important lessons one can re-learn from this entire episode.

Psalms 47:8 - God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.

  • God is still on the throne.   Every time I meet my Malaysian friends or even take the cabs there, they are always clamouring about the state of affairs in the government. And because many felt that the rule of law will never be imposed in that nation, they left the country with deep sorrow in their hearts. But there were some who believed that God is in control of every human situation and the affairs of the state. They waited and prayed in hope and God did answer their prayers. Last night's installation of Dr M as the 7th PM was indeed a miracle. Those who wait on God are never disappointed. "They shall mount up with wings as eagles..."

Mat 16:18 I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

  • The schemes of the enemy are subservient to the will of God.    Those who followed the events in Malaysia would have known how the enemy tried in many ways to destroy the things of God. But "the gates of hell will never prevail against the church of God". Those who waited and trusted on God will now see a reformation. Malaysia will indeed become "the catalyst of the nations". I see a new wave of revival breaking out all over Malaysia and the Name of Jesus established in every village and town.

Luke 1:37For nothing will be impossible with God

  • Nothing is impossible with God.    With man its impossible, but all things are possible with God. Even the most difficult situation is possible with God. No one could have ever imagined how the former regiment could ever be dethroned. But it was done. It's only God. "How are the mighty fallen". Trust God for your situations. You will see a reversal, from the negative to the positive. He alone is able, when everything else fails.
Numbers 32:23 -But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the LORD; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out.

  • Your sin will find you out.   How true. I just read the facebook posting by Rosmah's daughter. It sent chills down my spine. The crime, sin and the atrocities committed in high places, will never go unpunished. God's Word is always true. Be warned. No matter who you are, your hidden agenda will one day be brought to the open and it will be a day of shame, regret and despair. Repent while you can. God's Justice will be served according to His time, His plan and His purpose. He has the final say. Not man.

2 Chro 7:14 - If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

  • God answers prayers.    God has heard the cries of His people. For many years, the people of God have been praying for their nation. Many tears, many fasting and many sacrifices. Never give up. Our God still answers prayer. If a nation is to be shaken, someone needs to stand in the gap. If the church needs to be shaken, someone needs to stand in the gap. Its because the people in Malaysia have stood persistently in the gap, heavens relented and today we witness the miracle of miracles.

Rev 2:4 - Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. So greater things are in store.

  • What you are today is more important than what you were before.   BN was founded on good principles. The founding fathers realised the importance of integrity, unity and freedom for religion. Many great things were done. Progress was rife and would have overtaken Spore. Unfortunately race and religion became the dividing factor. Pride, corruption and elitism came to the forefront. Leadership became weak in being the role models and setting the right vision for the nation. They thought the past achievements will propel them to the future. That was exactly the same problem with the church in Ephesus. They did a  lot of super spiritual things but lost their first love for God in the process. The glory of the past is no guarantee for the success and favour for the present and future.
Let's rise up, take up the banner of the Lord and move forward.
