First Fruits in Bihar, India
In Mar 2015, the Lord burdened me for church planting in Bihar. I told Pst John Signey to see if he can get some church planters fro training. I posted this note on my Facebook timeline on 5 Mar 2015.
"Bihar, once known as the missionaries graveyard, will become the missions vineyard. From the valley of dry bones will rise a vast army (Ezekiel 37).
- Population : 83 million
- Hindus : 82%
- Muslims :16 %
- Others : 2%
This is the first batch of church planters from Bihar who were trained in Kaniyakumari Training Centre in Tamil Nadu. They started their training in Apr and graduation in Nov 2015. This whole program was sponsored by Bro Albert and Sis Josephine from Singapore. They even went there to personally train all these church planters for a month. These church planters are very young but with a heart for evangelism. When I saw them in the beginning f the training, I had a lot of doubts if these boys can so anything in this very hard ground in Bihar. But Bro Albert and Sis Josephine had the faith and confidence that God will raise these young people as an army for His kingdom.
Last week Bishop Nehemiah and Pst Jonny (one of the trainers for this batch) went to visit these church planters in Bihar to see what they are doing after the training. This is the report that Bishop Nehemiah gave:
"After the completion of Church
Planters’ Training from Kanyakumary CPTC, First week of November 2015, 8 of our
Church planters’ started the new work with a great vision in the state of
Bihar.
Most of our church planters’ are very
young and having great passion in their hearts for God and for their own
people, 4 of them stated ministry by giving free tuitions for the school going
poor children. Its helping them to reach their parents with the Gospel of Jesus
Christ.
On 30th Morning & After
noon also visited 2 more new villages. And also had the meeting with the Church
Planters. All our 8 church planters are full time workers and depending on the
church and God for their lively hood. Praying for the financial assistance from
PEC."
Bishop Nehemiah told me he was very happy to see the progress of the work done by these young men. Admitted, they need for training and guidance, but they have started a great work. I was simply overwhelmed when I read the report. We are seeing our first fruits in Bihar. I thank God for Bro Albert and Sis Josephine for they love, faith and relentless passion for the people of India. They saw what God can do with simple people. It takes a lot of courage and faith to do something like this.
Isn't it time to train the next batch?
Isn't it time to train the next batch?
All glory to God.
