Special Meetings at PEC over last weekend.

We had three wonderful "nights of fire" at PEC with Rev Moses Daniel over the weekend. The Holy Spirit moved in a very powerful way. On Saturday night we recorded 172 people in attendance, a  first in PEC for a gospel meeting. Half of them were new comers. 

It was heartening to see the members working together in unison for these meetings. A team of people gathered every evening for prayer. Even on Saturday morning, one cell group came together for prayer. The ushers, the worship team, the hospitality team and the alter ministers all worked together as a single unit. Those in the media and the entire leadership were in the forefront of service. This is what the church should be like. It was a delightful sight to behold.

Most importantly 15 people gave their lives to Christ. Many rededicated their lives. Some were delivered from demonic oppression and many received a Word of  knowledge from the Lord. Now we need to do the follow up. on the new believers.  

       

Some  important messages were realised over the three nights:
  • PEC is a special church. 
  • PEC your wilderness experience is over
  • Your theme for next year is expansion, enlarge your territory  (Isa 54:2, 1 Chro 4:9-10). From now on its going to be more glorious
  • The church will be filled to the brim. You will be looking for another building
  • The youth will be the pacesetter for PEC.
God confirmed His Word. For the last few weeks the leaders have been praying, working and planning on the same theme of "Enlargement" for 2016, based on the same verses given by the speaker". He had no knowledge of our plans but the Lord confirmed it for us.

What a trip to Nepal

I am sitting at the airport restaurant in Kathmandu, checked in and waiting for my departure to New Delhi and from there, onward to Singapore.  Just sipping and enjoying the Americano coffee and a slice of cheese cake as I reminiscent my last nine days in Nepal. It has been a incredibly tough trip but one filled with joy, great satisfaction and challenges. Tough because of the bad roads, tracks and mountain trekking that really tested my endurance and my back was sore.  Couple of knocks on the head as the vehicle danced to the tune of the undulating terrain. Days when I had terrible diarrhoea, running from one mountain toilet to another. Thank God I had Dr Mike Ong on this trip who is a medical doctor from Singapore, who attended to my condition. Times when we had to sleep on the cold floor with thin sheets of cloth, with rodents in the vicinity. Temperatures dropped to a low of 10-12 degrees centigrde in the nights. Devotion - Psalms 44: 6-7 - Its God who gives the victory

Psalms 44:6-7 - I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame. Any soldier will know that the basic weapon of warfare, in those days, were the bow and sword. Without which no soldier will not venture into the battle field. Even the famed Goliath was geared in full battle order when he faced David with the stones and the sling. Isn't it a paradox then that David, one of the finest soldiers Israel had ever produced, proclaims that its not the bow and the sword that gives the victory. Its is the Lord, Jehovah, that gives the victory. I don't think David is trying to say that we should not prepare ourselves for warfare. His concern is that we recognize that ultimately its the Lord that gives the victory.
