PEC Church Day

Celebrating PEC Church Day and Singapore's National Day

Today we celebrated  our annual Church Day and National Day together. We had a combined service. More than a hundred people attended. The church was packed with many new comers. It was a wonderful time of celebration. Special items from the kids, youth and the challengers., with a powerful time of worship were the highlights of the day. Not forgetting the tradition Indian dance from our young ladies.

I shared on the theme "The kind of church we want to be". The text was taken from Acts 2:40-47. Three reasons that I think was the key to the early church’s powerful movement.

1.   Holy People
2.   Holy Core values
3.   Holy Spirit
Holy People

God calls us holy, in-spite of our many sins, failures and weakness (1 Peter 2:9).

Four important qualities that set the early believers apart:

a.   Commitment
b.   Compulsion
c.   Conviction
d.   Criminalisation - They were willing to die as criminals for the sake of Christ.
Did not have time to complete the message. We finished the service by singing the National Anthem, specially edited as a tribute to our founding father, the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew. The service was followed by a good time of fellowship over food and fun-filled activities. Praising God for a wonderful Day well spent. So good to see the church working together and moving forward. All Glory to God.

Of course the last one Christina
