My brother Kumar welcomed in Glory

My older brother Kumar Periasamy, 54, passed from this life and entered his heavenly home with the Lord on February 25, 2012. He served as Director of International Operations and Programs for Operation Blessing, Inc. He was a member of the Azalea Garden Church of God in Virginia Beach. Born and raised in Singapore, he graduated from Regent University. He joined OB Inc in 1998 serving as regional manager, transitioning to deputy director of Asia Operations of CBN Inc, and finally returning to OB, Inc in Virginia Beach. Under his leadership, teams of OB and CBN employees coordinated relief efforts for the Tsunami affected, providing medical treatment, clean water, war relief and aid to over 30,000 individuals each month. As a friend of the poor and downtrodden Kumar led right from the field, working in the midst of desperate people needing aid. His heart for the poor changed lives all over the world, but his wife and daughter were his greatest delight.

Kumar is survived by his wife of 25 years, Smita Kumar; daughter Manisha Abigail Kumar.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Azalea Garden Church of God at 1541 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach. on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11:00am with burial to follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.
