Visit to Kairos Cornerstone Community – 17–20 October

This past weekend, we had the privilege of being at Kairos Cornerstone Community for the wedding of Jeremy and Ririn. Jeremy is the eldest son of Bishop Ezra and Pastor Janice, who over the years have become more like family to us. It was truly a family wedding in every sense of the word.

The wedding took place on Saturday, 18 October, and I had the honour of sharing the Word during the Holy Matrimony service. More than six hundred people attended. Though the service lasted close to two hours, it was deeply meaningful and filled with emotion, especially for both families.

It was also a joy to meet members of Bishop Ezra’s extended family, many of whom had travelled from Medan and Jakarta. Quite a number of them could still speak Tamil, although they were fluent in Bahasa Indonesia. I took the opportunity to share the gospel message during the ceremony, praying that the Holy Spirit would continue to work in their hearts, as several of them are still from Hindu background.

On Sunday morning, Jeya and I visited the church in Tiga Pana, a branch of Kairos Cornerstone under the leadership of Pastor Cindy. More than fifty people gathered for the Sunday service, and many responded to the message with openness and faith.

We had a wonderful time ministering to these simple yet significant people in the Kingdom of God.

We left Berastagi on Sunday evening. Although the traffic was slow-moving, we enjoyed rich fellowship and conversation with Pastor Daniel and his wife, Pastor Yusli, as we travelled together. We stayed overnight in a hotel near the airport.

Our return flight on Monday was delayed by an hour, but all went smoothly thereafter.

We remain deeply grateful to Bishop Ezra and Pastor Janice for their love, partnership, and trust. We truly count it a blessing to be part of the Kairos Cornerstone family. Many of the members have become so familiar and dear to us that we always feel their warmth and affection each time we visit.

I also had the privilege of meeting Pastor Thomas from City Missions Church, and we had an enriching conversation. God willing, I hope to explore opportunities to partner with him in the mission field in the near future.

When one door closes, God opens many more. To God be the glory.
