Heart moving moments

On Monday, 28 Oct, I was asked to address students from the Evangelical University, which was an hours drive from Goiania. I was not given the topic and they said when we get there they will tell us. So I did not pay much attention to preparation.

3 hrs before leaving for the campus, I was told what was expected of me .  I was asked to speak of "Values and Ethics in the secular world". Oh dear. I was totally unprepared. ðŸ˜ ðŸ˜  I had to depend on the Lord, totally, as always.

But it was raining "cats and dogs", and the traffic was bad. It took us almost two hours to get there.

This university has about 20,000 students and one of the top universities in Brasil. I was impressed by the campus structure, very modern with good facilities.

About 200 students and faculty from the "Administration Course", were waiting patiently for us at the auditorium, even though we were very late. These students were earmarked to be the next level of leadership in Brasil in the administrative field. I spoke on being the "salt and the light" of the world. They all listened very attentively. I gave examples from Singapore leaders and also from the Bible, highlighting Daniel's example in the civil service.

The head of the faculty, later thanked me for the session and said it was very much needed in his country. I wished I had better myself prepared for the session.

Later I was told that the faculty had  organised a whole day of prayer from 6AM to 12 midnight. They wanted to seek the Lord and for a revival in their country and for the next generation to put God in the centre of their lives. Wow.

I was moved. Thank God that while many countries in the west and America are moving away from God, there is still a generation on fire for  God and His ways.

Lord do the same here in my country, Singapore.
